fail OD!
So this whole OD crashing (its seems) about once every week is getting on my nerves because oddly enough, it’s always when I want to update or even just browse. >=
So I have been having a mild anxiety attack. Sadly, it’s over something that, by rights, should be a good thing. I bought myself an Xbox 360 which is something I have wanted to do for over a year now but I never had the finances for it. Since I got the bonus from the store this week plus my now normal $250/weekly from the pharmacy I could do it. I wasn’t sure that I was because I’ve never spent that much money on myself, ever, not even for homecoming/prom dresses (granted that was still back when my mother was buying them for me but still!! All of my gowns were less than $100!). The only time I have EVER dropped money like that has been for car repairs and let’s face it, those are necessities not wants. This was a refurb but I also got the 1 year protection plan on it and pre-ordered the new Fable. So even having spent $130 on the console alone it’s still not ‘new’ new (referring to my camera entry a few days back). With my anxiety/OCD tendencies the fact that I just drop close to $200 on something that’s for me, just me, not even for ‘everyday’ use (I have used the camera several time already and have plans to use it even more like at the party I’m going to tonight or the road trips I’m already planning for months down the road like going back to Luray Caverns, camping, the possible Pitt trip, the possible beach trips, the new puppy, etc.) but for fun! (Granted it also plays movies so I guess it will get everyday use regardless but still!)
I spent almost $200 on myself!!! zOMG!!!!!! OKAY, THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!! I am seriously just this side of freaking out over it. My mind will not stop racing over all the things that could go wrong potentially in the next 7 days to make me regret dropping that kind of money. The ridiculous thing is, I still have money, altogether I have over $300 still to my name between my savings and the 2 checking accounts. My bills are paid up to date. My next one isn’t due until the 28th so that will be paid easily with next week’s paycheck. Heck, I could pay it this week and still have at least $100 without touching my savings probably. In fact *checks* I have over $200 in just one checking account. If I paid my bill this week then I would have $50 in that account plus the $40 left in the other plus $150 in my savings. I would have enough money easily to make it until next Friday, barring unforeseen expenses (like dinner, going out with friends, etc). I still have to put gas in my car and that’s about $30 though so I’m not planning to pay that bill just yet. I like holding on to my money until I know I need to spend it. I love online billpay for that very reason!
I’m still going to watch my spending this week and not make any other rash purchases. I adopted a soldier (Little’s boyfriend Toby is oversees and members of his unit have asked to be adopted so I took one) but I bought stuff to send him earlier this week with last week’s paycheck. I’ve had my nails done so they are set for 2 weeks. I still don’t know what I want to do with my hair yet so I can put off cut&color for a while without too much regret. I’d like to get highlights which is the only reason I’m not going to color it yet because it would kill my hair to do at home color then go get highlights done professionally. Also I need a cut but I have no idea what style I want yet so I can put that off too. My bangs are getting too long but I don’t know if I want to keep the sideswept fringe or go with shaggy bangs again maybe or possibly trying something completely different (no short hair for this girl though!).
*sigh*
Okay. I have to get ready for work, grab the GPS to take with me as well as a change of clothes. Plus I do have to purchase some more stuff for the Xbox but I wanted to see if we got a discount on some of it at the store before I went ahead and bought it from GameStop or something.
Off I go! =)
Xx
Girl spoil yourself a little. You’ve earned it
