How Bizarre (edit)

I live in VA
I find it so odd that my aunt and her former husband are so civil now
How is it once a piece of paper is gone all the humanity returned to
there relationship. It makes me second guess marriage

EDIT
I have one recurring memory of them, when they where married
My uncle was leaving for work. He rub my aunt hair and peck kiss
her good bye. To some this my be sweet but it is not to me. I was ten
 of twelve and I though he was treating her like a dog. To this day I think if a
guy did that to me I would bite his hand bark at him and walk away…
if it is a dog he wants it is a dog he will get
