God, The Sockpuppet By Sonja and Kayla

This happened to come to my attention (Kayla is me) in a class of mine. We were talking about what we would miss when we went to college. One girl said, “I’ll miss God, because I probably won’t be as faithful,” or something to that effect. I asked her “What? Is God a rag doll to be left? Or is he a sock puppet?”, which made me and my friend (Hey Val!) start laughing. The girl was not amused, but I was, considering I question things that aren’t clear, including religion.

Now it’s me, Sonja. In some strange sense Kayla makes a valid point about God being almost like a sockpuppet. Some people use him to gain only what they want. They go on and on about how they love him then turn around and do all the things that good little catholic girls shouldn’t do. So is God just a sockpuppet to be placed apon the hand and used at anyone’s free will? Last time I checked God was all powerful and not at anyones despense for pleasure and gain.

Kayla again. I read somewhere that “God must be a real, solid being to a person and a soul must exist inside if you truly believe. It’s better to be an outspoken atheist than a hypocrite.” To this statement, I agree.

Sonja here, I’m just wondering why the so called “Christians” and “Cathlics” find it nice to use God this way. I mean why use God? I mean he could fry you or something (Kayla: Mmm..pancakes..). God is all powerful, come on. He doesn’t have time to be thrown around like a popular whore at some party. People go on and on about God this God that. But do they ever really mean it. It drives me crazy to think that most of the worlds religion which believes in “God” says one thing but means another.

So on this note, just remember God is not a sockpuppet unless you are a hypocritcal freak! Get a Life! God has people to worry about instead of being the name of the happy go lucky Christians and Cathlics.
