Power

What an amazing display of power!  Bobby Abreu tonight trashed Home Run Derby records left and right!  It just amazes me that men can have such strength and drive to be able to pull off such a feet.  Just… wow.

It turns out that my guitar has become a sort of therpeutic device.  I’ve been playing a lot lately; playing songs, learning tabs, and generally just messing around and experimenting.  I think sometime this week I’m going to head down to the guitar shop and grab some books.  There’s this lovely little family run guitar shop downtown where I bought new guitar strings for my acoustic.  The people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful.  I spent some time playing with their dog and talking to the owner who happened to be holding his baby daughter at the time.  Anyways, I definitely like supporting the smaller family establishments rather than going to those huge super music stores… besides, this place is cheaper anyways.  Hoorah!

Last night I bought myself some pants.  I only have two pairs of jeans that fit me and one of them now has a HUGE hole in the crotch.  All the other pants I own are about 5 or 6 years old and simply don’t fit me at all anymore.  So, I bought two pairs of jeans, a pair of cargo pants, and two pairs of shorts.  Old Navy was having a great sale and I was able to find everything I needed in my size.  Oh, and Beth, you will be happy to know I got siz 36x34.  I’ve succumbed to the waistline issue and you win.  =0P  If for some reason they end up being too big (like if I do lose some waistline), then I will just exchange them for 34s.  I thought it was amazing they’re phone order line was open at 4am. =0)

My meeting witht he missionaries last night went rather well.  It was just me and them, though, so we ended up talking a lot about how things were for them before they went on their mission and how they felt about the social institution of the church (one of my primary concernts).  I really get along well with these elders and I’m becoming increasingly aware of more questions that I have as we progress.  One thing I want to do, even though I haven’t yet started, is start reading the BOM completely through.  I haven’t ever read it straight through before, so I figure I might as well now. 

Anyways, I’m off to bed.  I’m so exhausted.
