Morses

So I did something pretty exciting today.  Last night I was talking to Anna and the conversation pretty much hit the final nerve.  I started asking her about the time comittments for Marching Mizzou and deciding whether or not I would have enough time. Anyways, it turns out that I do and can give enough time to the band to be seriously interested.  So, my next step was e-mailing Dr. Knight, the director of Marching Mizzou, meeting him this morning, discussing my options and ultmately borrowing a trombone to practice on for the nest week.  Im supposed to call him in a week and set up an audition.  I’m so excited!  Between my conversations with Anna, going to DCI, and watch performances I downloaded I just couldnt’ stand not being in marching band anymore.  Man… everything just seems to be falling in place for me lately.  YAY!!!!  =0)  Marching will only cost me $50 (fees for certain items… plus instrument checkout).  I will also get credit as if it were a class, and a grade.  The "course" is tuition-free, so I don’t ahve to pay anything there.  *sigh… this is going to be so much fun!

Allison was nice enough to offer me her car so I could go pick up some sheet music this afternoon.  I may need to go back because I might need to get some more stuff.  Anyways, Dr. Knight gave me permission to use the practice facilities at the Fine Arts Building, so I’ll be spending quite a bit of time there for the next week.  I have some serious chops to build back up.  Anna is putting good word in for me, so I hope that I can make it onto the line.

Oh, I also talked to my French TA today about class next semester.  I put together a tentative schedule of what my classes should look like next semester (since I can’t register until after the summer semester) and found out that I can only take French II at 9:00am.  My current TA will be teaching that block, so I asked him if there were anything he could do to guarantee me a spot in his class since it is listed as full.  He told me that all I have to do is show up and he’ll make sure I’m added.  Yes!!  That reminds me… I need to e-mail my Geography professors!  Well, time to get crackin!  Later!

Oh, and thought of the day… I’d mentioned before about how things could be different once Beth comes back into Columbia.  Allison commented today that it looks like I’ll be pretty busy next semester… and we both concluded that it’s a good thing.  It’ll keep me busy and away from any kind of distractions.

Yay for things falling into place! 😀

I concur with the Jedi drummer. hehe

*smiles* Good things happening at this point really is no coincidence. At least I don’t think it is. 😉 ~~
