Childish

I spent some time talking with Beth over the last few days, but I think it was probably too soon for her.  It was nice while it lastest, though.  I think the most important time is just to give her whatever time she needs.  Either way, I’m glad we did get to talk.

Joey and Maegen have been over at my place almost every single night for the past week and a half.  It’s been a blast too.  Last night we went to Wal-Mart to explore, and we got the Indiana Jones trilogy set.  We just watched the first one tonight =0)  Tonight was actually pretty crazy.  We played volleyball at church for a bit, but then it turned into kickball… and then straight up soccer.  The attendance for volleyball fluctuates a LOT.  Tonight we only had 8 people .  Either way it’s always a ton of fun.

So, last night I went on my first date in long time.  Honestly, I think it’s the first time I’ve ever gone on a real first date, period.  With my past girlfriends, it was always a progression and then dates would evolve from that, but I’ve never just called up someone and asked them on a date.  I was going to take Joey and Maegen out for dinner last night, but I decided it would be fun to have a double date.  I was introduced to Erin about a week ago, and Sarha suggested we should go out on a date sometime because she thought we were a good match.  She’s definitely cute, and she’s really the first girl I’ve had any serious interest in lately.

Here’s the kicker, though.  She actually has a baby girl.  Her name is Nora and she’s beyond incredibly adorable.  Normally, I would think I would be scared off by such a thought, but for some reason when I found out, it barely even phased me.  I actually reacted rather positively.  I guess I just don’t really have an issue with it.  Joey asked me tonight about how I felt about going on a date with a mother.  The important thing to remember is that when you’re dating a mother, you’re dating the kid as well.  I just strongly believe that the child is a very important part of that kind of relationship.

Now, obviously this is just one date.  I called her yesterday morning and we all went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill.  I’m still getting to know Erin better, but after the first date, I think I would at least like to pursue further dates to see where it leads.  I’m definitely in no rush and I’m definitely very cautious about entering a relationship in which a child is involved, but I’m certainly interested, and we’ll see where it all leads.

Anyways, I’ve invited her over for dinner sometime this weekend along with her daughter.  I’ll probably find out sometime tomorrow whether or not she’s up for the idea.  For now, I’m off to bed.  I’m exhausted. Peace out!

^_^ Glad to see things are going well. Sorry that some of my notes seem to say the same thing but I do mean it. I’ll try to give you a call sometime too. 😀
