NoJoMo #18 – Fantasy dinner Party * edited
I wasn’t going to do this one at first. It just seems hard to pinpoint who I would invite and then there is the perfectionist side of me that wants my picks to be perfect and some how meaningful. However this challenge is suppose to be fun. I could take it seriously or roll with it and think of folks I would want there. so here goes my list
1. My Grandpa Stewart
2. W.C. fields
3. Franklin D. Roosevelt
4. John Wayne
5. Alexander the Great
6. Julius Caeser
7. Abraham Lincoln
8. Queen Victoria
9. Kaiser Wilhelm the First King of Prussia
10. The Apostle Thomas
11. Jesus Christ
Oh this list could go on but I think this would make for an interesting Dinner Party for me. I am related to more then just one of these people which makes it personal more interesting.

Ok so I decided that I would edit this entry and explain my choices to some extent.
1. I chose my Grandpa stewart, He was a hero to me and in WWII. He was the greatest storyteller I have ever known and taught me so much about history and the world around me.
2. My Grandfathers most favorite actor was W.C. Fields he was crass and funny and not your most politically correct of people especially for his time.
3. F.D.R. did so much for this country and is the only president to have been allowed to serve 3 full terms and was elected for a fourth that he never completed to do his failing health he passed away.
4. John Wayne also known as the Duke is a fun western actor and close friend to my mother’s family. It was he and his wife at the time who orchestrated my mother’s adoption into a loving home. If it wasn’t for him I never would have had a Grandpa Stewart.
5. Alexander the Great has done what others have wanted to do in conquering the known world of his time. I am also a direct decendant of his.
6. I love Ancient Roman History and Julius caeser basically brought an end to the Republic and started the line of Caesers.
7. another great president of the US would be Abraham Lincoln who helped bring untiy back to our country and most importantly FREE the slaves. All men and women are created equally. I cannot say this enough.
8. I am also related to this Queen of England and she seemed like a stubborn old woman resfusing to step down and retire allowing her son to rule. I can see me growing old and being a stubborn old woman too. LOL
9. Kaiser Wilhelm I was King of Prussia and united Germany. He is also my great, great, great…..grandfather.
10. Thomas intrigues me because he was the only apostle that did not run and hide out when Jesus was cruxified. He also struggled in believing that Jesus rose from the dead until Jesus stood before him in the Flesh and made him touch His wounds.
11. As a christian and a bible college student I would love to sit down to dinner with Jesus and to have him at a dinner with all of these different people could very well be interesting.
So there are my reasons and if you can’t tell I LOVE history!!!!
*grins* Yeah – I’d love to meet Queen Vic in controlled circumstances, and see what she thinks of what her descendants and how we’ve turned out.

RYN: That’s why you use silken tofu – it blends right in and makes it creamy – I use it to replace heavy cream which was originally in the recipe. You can’t tell the difference anywhere but on your waistline.
