I enjoy a good hug…

I got yelled at this week for being myself.

I find that kind of ammusing. I mean, people always say just be yourself. So I do and get bitched at for it. I’m confused.

I’m a physical person. Anyone that knows me in real life would agree. I enjoy physical contact. When I see a friend I generally hug them, whether it’s been an hour, a day, a week since I’ve seen you.

I enjoy hugs. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big bear hug, an ‘oh my gosh it’s been too long’ hug or an ordinary, everyday hug. I love them all.

My friends are all aware that I expect a hug from them. They know it, except it and (I hope) enjoy it.

When I first met Bec in NYC we had been talking for a short time online. I called her at her sisters to tell her we arrived at LaGuardia and were heading to the hotel. She agreed to met us there. When the cab pulled up, she was standing outside waiting. I jumped out and gave her a huge hug…she hugged me right back. That sealed our friendship.

I see Michael at least twice a week. I hug him when he first comes by, when we say goodbye and multiple times while we’re together. It’s not like I have feelings for him, I just enjoy hugging him. Quite honestly, he gives some of the best hugs 🙂

The point to this small glimpse into my life? It seems I upset my friends girlfriend because I hugged him. According to her, the hug went on for too long and seemed too intimate. I told her to get over it.

I have also discovered that I’m a pushover sometimes 🙂 But this is a good thing.

Some people I went to the Hartford DMB shows with are going to the Providence Dave & Friend show. I was convinced today that I need to be in attendance.

OK!

So I’m going to the Providence and Chicago show. WooHoo!!!
