A new (band) obsession

which is just what I need!

Went to that Sprite tour in Chicago with a friend of mine I met on nancies. I drove out Saturday morning, checked into my hotel and relaxed until he came by at 2:30.

The first 2 bands were NOT my style. I only remember the names because J and I were making fun of them. Lordz of Brooklyn and Skillz. It not that they weren’t talented, but it’s not the music I enjoy. Then Robert Randolph and the Family Band came on, yay! One of 2 that I was there to see. They were great. It was the first time I saw them live and I was blown away.

The next 2 were also not my style but I can’t remember their names, then came the Roots. They were one of the bands that I wasn’t sure if I would like or not…but they weren’t too bad either. I probably wouldn’t go see them again, but it was nice.

Finally the band I had been waiting to see, OAR, comes on stage. I knew it was going to be a great set when they opened with my favorite song “Hey Girl”. They brought out Robert Randolph on another of my favs “Anyway”. If you have not heard this band…GO LISTEN!!!!! They were amazing! I could see this becoming an obsession almost as bad as DMB is!

We took off after their set, planning on hitting a bar named Burbon street because a DMB cover band, Crash, was playing. That didn’t happen due to my useless sense of direction and J being slightly drunk. So we went back to the hotel room and had some really great sex. That was not part of the plan for the weekend!

It all started while we were at the show. He had put his arm around me at the show, leaning in to talk to me because we were about 15 rows in front of the speakers. Then he leaned towards me and kissed my ear, which is a big turn on for me. After a couple kisses on the ear, forehead and neck I finally just turned and kissed him. Damn that boy can kiss!! Nice soft lips. When OAR came on and we stood up to dance he pulled me against him, dancing with me. He was running his hands up and down my sides, kissing my neck, nibbling on my ear. At one point, I had turned around and faced him, swaying with him to the music, my lips just pressed against his. That was the most intense feeling, just thinking about it sends shivers up my spine.

We got to the car and started making out…I felt like I was back in high school! After about 20 minutes we figured it was time to find the bar. An hour later we realized we weren’t going to find the bar, so he leans over to me and whispers “I want you”. That was all I needed to hear! I managed to get us back to the hotel somehow and he stayed with me all night. It’s so wonderful to wake up in the morning with arms wrapped around you. We went down to the resturant in the lobby and had a nice breakfast then said goodbye. I had to drive home and he was going to watch football with the boys.

I am so tired today! After being up all night, we only slept about 5 hours, then driving home and having to go to work I feel like I’m going to fall over. But if I had to do it all over again I would 🙂
