well, I was doing better
I got a few questions on my last entry asking how I’m doing. Well, I was doing pretty good. All of a sudden last week Thursday though I woke up just not feeling good. I hurt everywhere like I had the flu and my left breast was just KILLING me. It felt like someone beat it up in the middle of the night and it was on fire. So I called the doctor and they wanted me to come in right away that day. Turns out I have a new infection, mastitis. Ouch. And my UTI never really went away so I still have that but it’s gone to my kidneys. Also, my blood pressure was way back up again even though I’ve been religiously taking my medicine. So, not doing great. I was feeling so run down that again, I broke down crying in my doctors office. He told me I had better have some help for the next week or so because I’m not going to be feeling up to taking care of Gavin all night and all day while Ben’s at work. So I asked my mom to come back down to help me out. She’s going to stay here for at least a week until my antibiotics start working and my blood pressure comes back down. Honestly, I’m already starting to feel a little bit better. I can actually lay on my left side now without feeling like I’m going to throw up because of the pain.
Man, Thursday was seriously the worst day ever. On top of not feeling good, when I found out I was supposed to go into the doctor I quick got Gavin ready, put him in his car seat and took a quick shower. After I got out of the shower I quick went to the bathroom and flushed the toilet, not really completely paying attention to the toilet, you know, because I was in a super big hurry because I still needed to pump (ow!) and feed Gavin before I could leave. Anyways, apparently Ben had clogged the toilet and not fixed it or told me because when I flushed it immediately overflowed and started pouring all over the floor. Gavin was sitting right next to it but luckily I moved him fast enough where he didn’t get any thing on him. But it was pouring all over the floor and I couldn’t get the water turn off to turn and there was a bunch of stuff on the back of the toilet. So by the time I actually got it to turn off it was ALL OVER the place. So, I was standing there completely naked, dripping wet, with dirty toilet water all over my feet and legs and the bathroom and all of a sudden the fire alarms start going off. And they’re super loud so Gavin wakes up and starts SCREAMING. I was freaking out at this point, crying because all of this was happening at once. I grabbed a towel and ran around the house literally ripping down the fire alarms because I couldn’t get them to turn off. Turns out the reason they started going off was because the water from the toilet dripped through the ceilling directly through the fire alarm in the downstairs hallway. But oh my God, I had no idea what was going on. The whole time Gavin was screaming and it took me forever to calm him down enough to eat before I could leave. I ended up not having enough time to pump so by the time I got to the doctors I was all the more uncomfortable and was leaking all over the place. Ug. Such a crappy day!
At least I think the antibiotics are starting to work. I do feel quite a bit better but I’ve been so insanely tired. I’m awake right now because Gavin needs to be fed and changed in about 15 minutes and I’m just waiting for him to wake up. He literally is ready to be fed every 3 hours almost to the minute. It’s so funny how strict his schedule is. He’ll wake up from a dead sleep if it’s been 3 hours since he ate last. It’s nice in away because we can plan everything out based on when he’s going to want to eat, but not nice in a way because it’d be kind of nice if he’d start eating a little less often. But oh well. He’s gaining weight really well, so I guess it’s working for him. He’s up to 7lbs 3oz as of last week Tuesday. Officially normal newborn size. And I can start using the snugli carrier since he hit 7lbs. He’s getting some real cute baby fat too. I’ll have to post some newer pictures. I know I did that video but you can’t really see him that well since he’s on my shoulder. We took some pictures for a Christmas card, I’ll have to get them uploaded for you guys to see. They actually turned out pretty cute.
I suppose, I’m going to go check out my Amazon order and stuff real quick before the little man wakes up. I hope you guys are all doing good.
