Appts and going home

My appts both went good.  My doctor said the bump behind my ear is either a skin cyst or a fatty tumor, neither of which I need to worry about.  She said to just keep an eye on it and if it gets any bigger to come back in.  She said it’s too small to even bother trying to take out.  So if it gues any bigger, which it hasn’t in over 4 months, they’ll probably take it out and make sure it’s nothing bad.  The bump on my leg is just a scar from a pimple.  Which I figured but since my dad has had skin cancer multiple times, I thought I’d better just ask and be sure. 

My OB appt went good too.  I kind of had a minor heart attack though because the doctor couldn’t find the heart beat at first on the doppler.  But I was laying with my knees up and she asked me to move them flat and then she found it right away.  Very healthy heartbeat. 🙂  There were some loud noise interuptions that kind of made the doctor start.  She was like, "Did you feel that?"  Appartently the loud noise was the baby moving.  I was too busy listening to the heartbeat to notice if I felt anything though.  But I’m definitely sure that the feeling I’ve been feeling since last Friday is the baby moving. 🙂  I feel it more regularly now.  Just about every evening and now usually right around lunch time.  It feels kind of like a goldfish is swimming around in my stomach. 😉  It’s seriously a great feeling.  Especially since it’s a little reassurance that everything is ok. 

My nephew has a name, and I’m happy to say that it’s not the name that Ben and I agree on. 😉  His name is Brock Anthony.  We also decided we’re not going to go down there this weekend.  I think if it was me, I’d want more time than that before I had out of town visitors.  So we’re going to wait at least a few weeks. 

We went up to Rhinelander this weekend.  I can’t help but feel like I’m going home whenever I go up there.  I haven’t lived there in about ten years but it still feels like home.  We went to Bond falls up in MI on Saturday with my brother, his wife, and the kids.  It was really nice.  Then we had dinner at my parents house and just hung out for the night.  I was kind of surprised to have an impromtu quasi baby shower. 😉  Ok, not really a baby shower at all but my parents got us the crib and my aunt and uncle got us a matching rocker. 🙂  And then an old friend stopped by and gave me an activity mat, a bathtub, and a bunch of books.  So it was really nice!  It was also nice that we were able to fit everything in our car!  Now we just have to get the room painted so we can set up the crib and rocker and see how it looks. 🙂  Still can’t decide on a color though.  Right now it looks like a patchwork quilt because of all the samples we’ve put on the walls trying to find the right color. 

Well, I guess I should get going.  Speaking of paint, it smells a lot in here from all the paint and I’ve probably been in here long enough.  Hope you’re all doing well. 🙂
