Spring, missing in action

Maybe you all shouldn’t encourage me….or at least is there any real criticism out there that I can use to make this better? I mean is it really worth publishing, even on a blog? Is it good enough to send to my agent? I love doing all these creative things but I can never ever tell if their any good or not….I just enjoying doing them and love getting the reactions, when people laugh spontaneously it makes it all worthwhile. However when I see other peoples stuff, mine is only mildly funny sometimes a little thought provoking but not like Garfield or some other good comics…..Its like I’m too close to have any perspective.

I think they are good enough to send to your agent. They feel very current and they are really well drawn.

I love a rock with personality. Send them and find out if your agent thinks they are worth it. What have you got to lose?

I enjoy the gentle humor and the personality you’ve given these characters…and the relationship between them that you’ve developed too. Those, to me, are characteristics of good cartoons, and heaven knows we need more gentle, true humor and less in-your-face, often mean stuff. I believe there is a market out there for what you’re doing and would encourage you to send it to your agent and/or shop it around some publications that focus on nature, gardening, the environment, and maybe even children’s publications (even though the adults here seem to love what you’re doing too). Go for it!

Garfield wasn’t that funny in the beginning. We had to get used to him and Jon. I like your funnies. Some make me chuckle and some make me rotflmao. If you don’t submit, the answer is “No!” Life is risk taking. Take a risk. Besides I’d like to say I know someone famous. heheheheheh Winter isn’t giving up easily up here either. Be well, my friend.

Better get a line of them done. You will need one each day forever, if you are successful.

I agree with lelis; I too enjoy the gentle humor and the personality you’ve given these characters, also the relationship between them. Yes, send them out and see if an agent thinks they have potential.

I like her snow-boots….

I like her boots too. I am enjoying them. I believe. I mentioned your characters to a friend in Women’s Circle on Monday who is a master gardener and has had a column in a local paper, we were talking about how hard it is to do this well. I am sure the world of cartooning (in terms of selling them) is as difficult to break into as any of the other arts but it is worth a shot.

I think you are amazing. {{Pola}}

You already have an agent?!!! And you haven’t sent them on, a mistake I think. You are provocatively funny, and the cartoons are cute to look at if you happen to not be a person who “thinks” about what they read. SEND THEM to the publisher…you are ready with your work!
