Going Nuclear

Life isn’t always so funny….sorry for the downer cartoon but I’m not feeling good about nuclear power right about now, especially with the sea water around Fukushima now totally toxic. It’s not like it’s a cup or a gallon, it’s a lake amount of contaminated water. What can be done?  It’s a mess out there….and coming to a town near you.

They are already detecting it in my city…. 🙁

I applaud your statement. It is a mess and is going to get messier before it is over. Be well, my friend.

I hope this disaster causes a rethink of the benefits of nuclear energy, worldwide. It’s a huge, frightening problem for the Japanese. But for other countries? Is there serious airborne contamination? All I’m reading is re radioactive water, and that, surely, would be so diluted before it reaches e.g. the US that the levels would be very similar to the natural radiation we all receive every day.

It is terrifying and we don’t really feel like we have a way to protect ourselves because it is so insidious. In the air, our food, the water. I understand Upsa’s valiant despair.

I think Upsa is speaking for many who are concerned about the radiation issue. For those who are close to Japan this would hit close to home. For those of us at a safe distance Upsa just opened some eyes.
