i’m so hot

The weather is doing crazy things and I’m not quite coping with it. I’ve been reduced to having to sit in my room wearing a wet T shirt and not much else gasping for breath. I’m not cut out for this weather.

I’ve been to see Pirates of the Carribbean (very good) and Superman (not so good). I’ve been out for a meal at my favourite thai place (excellent), and went out clubbing with my friend. We got their way too early. The bouncer stopped us at the door and told us to hang ona minute while he checked something. It was obvious he was telling them to turn the music on for us since we were the only ones in there! We were tempted to leave but stayed for a while and it ended up being packed. We must have danced with every guy in the club, i swear down we surrounded by a constant sea of sleezy guys, fighting over us. Lots of fun!

Also met up with Joe and Damien on Saturday, went for lunch, then punting for about 5 hours, then stopped off in a pub for dinner, then punted home. Joe was trying to throw my friend in the river but ended up getting tipped i himself. So he was shivering like made so i had to cuddle up to him to get him warmer, and so ended up soaked in river water myself too. Disgusting.

I was meant to be meeting ‘the wanker’ on sunday to do ‘stuff’, but he never got back to me which i was well adn truely pissed off about, but he’s gone to the desert now i believe so i can stop thinking about him.

I’ve been on my A and E shift this week. I turned up with my friend all togged up in our scrubs, absolutely terrified, and proceeded to just sit at teh nurses station for an hour too scared to do anything. Eventually the doctors and nurses were like, "why the hell are you here?" and kicked our asses into doing something, so then we ended up seeing patients. Saw a little girl who’d fallen and bumped her head, and a girl who’d fainted in the heat and gone over her handlebars. Also a man who’d been bitten on the ankle and it had swollen up huge, and finally a Colles fracture (broken wrist) which i go to apply counter-traction to while it was being reduced. It was boiling hot and i nearly passed out having to yank on her arm but it was all good.

The hot doctor that had taught us last week actually turned out to be a bit of a wanker. He just made bitchy comments about us because we spent a lot of our time just sitting about, and the nurses were a little scary too. I’m back there again tomorrow for my next shift. You have to carry the bleep so that you get called to any cardiac arrest in the hospital as part of the resus team. It didnt go off last time, and hopefully it wont again this time since that cuold be very very scary.
