Life changing event :( *EDIT*

My Mom has been very sick for the last 5 months off and on. Yesterday she finally got a diagnosis.

Here is what’s going on in her own words from an email she sent to friends:

My kidney function is at 17%.  I am severely anemic.  I will be starting new meds and a bi weekly infusion of Procrit to boost blood cell production.  I will also be starting the proccess for kidney transplant.

I have no idea whats ahead for her or our family, but she is strong and we are not going down without a fight. I have already said I would like to be tested to see if I can donate a kidney.

Everything will be going through OSU and she has to meet the criteria to be placed on the transplant list.

So please if you can pray that she can get on the list and that there will be a good outcome and that we continue to have the strength to overcome I would gladly appreciate it.

Also if anyone had personal experience with Kidney transplant or transplant in general or has resources that would be good to read and learn from I would bbe greatful.

So its what almost 4 weeks later. Have we heard anything from OSU??? NO! I am so frustrated. Its like we are walking a very tight tightrope.

Mom is going to her 2nd Procrit infusion. The first one went well and was easy.

She is doing well. She has bad days and good.

No word on dialysis at this point. And with no word from OSU yet, we can’t get anyone tested as in family members.
