Having a party

I remember the strangest things.

How Mitch bought his bass on September 10th, 2001. The shirt that Mark was wearing the night I met him. When Ben and I made wristbands out of Ethan’s sweatsocks. Andrea throwing up all over herself at Danielle’s apartment on Halloween and taking her underwear home in her back pocket. The Coke bottle full of cigarette butts at Lauren’s apartment. The night Pat and Emery broke up and Katie and I bought her ice cream and drove around with her.

The human brain is so complex and so wonderful – I can’t even begin to imagine as to why these images and thoughts are the ones that flit through my mind as I wander through the endless rows, mechanically distributing shoot bags and stapling up browns. If we were allowed to do nothing but repetitive, mentally untasking chores our entire lives, would our minds always conjure up these images of the random and unconnected? Would we be able to unlock the mysteries of the universe and turn civilization into a utopia?

Or would we endlessly ponder as to why PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT YOU DON’T BAG THE SECOND SHOOT?!

It’s funny what the human mind conjures up while performing mindless tasks. But it can be quite entertaining. Hope you’re doing well.

just pondering the question “would the name Phoenix Falling be, in any way, realted to the band ‘Pheonix Uprising?” it is most probable that the answer to this query would be “no.” e-mail me with the answer, if you will: JesusSurfers@hotmail.com
