After all these years…

I still play dress-up.

I still love eating food with my hands (and I don’t mean fried chicken…I mean cottage cheese and spaghetti).

I still love my Raggedy Anne doll, Waterlily, and my tooth fairy doll.

I still love picture books, Mr. Rogers, and afternoon naps.

I still believe in “forever,” “happily ever after,” and “always.”

I still believe in the hero, riding off into the sunset, and the white knight on his horse.

I still believe in the happy ending, the fairy tale, and the little cottage in the woods.

I am still afraid of the boogeyman, the dark, and the monsters living under my bed.

I am still a daddy’s girl, teacher’s pet, and a bookworm.

And I will always believe in true love, fate, destiny, and romance.

I guess I’m just a little kid at heart. Or maybe I’m just terribly, terribly naive…

Is that so terrible?

Nothing wrong with being an eternal child. I speak from experience. Long live Mr. Rogers and the afternoon nap!

Me too, sweetie. Keep dreaming. Luv ya.

its a belief in such things that keeps us young and sometimes the simple thought of one of those things can bring such joy, if only for a minute. who wants to grow up anyway? i will always believe in such things…
