I am so afraid that you will forget me.

I sometimes think that the phone call will never come, the invitation will never arrive.

I will simply disappear into the memories, the photographs, the birthday cards.

And I will surface when I marry, when I give birth…

…and when I die.

I do not wish to be so unimportant to you.
