Work, Play and a Big Red Dog…

I’m back at work. I’m on day three of a six the day stretch but I don’t mind… I get two days off in a row when it’s all done. Work here is fast, which is also all right because the shift moves a long faster and there’s nothing wrong with that! I hope that everyone else is having a good weekend. Leah is doing better cause the daycare she’s working at now is not open over the weekends. They are so impressed witht he work she’s done there so far in the last two weeks that they’ve asked her to come back next week. I smell a full time hiring coming in her near future. She’s really good with the kids so there is no way they’d let her go… no way.

Work has been good, but money has been tight. It sucks cause I would love to do fun stuff for the family, like go out for an occassional dinner… but we’ll have to wait until February to do cool stuff like that. The Warcraft purchase doesn’t count cause I used a $25 gift card I got for Xmas to purchase that. I wasn’t going to do anything significant with it, so Chris used it to get a full membership for us. He’s having fun with it and I guess that’s what counts. I’ve had a lot of fun with it too, but have resisted because there’s no rush. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon… so I can take my time and take things slow and do everything I have to do first before going back to the game again…

Since Leah is doing really, really well at the daycare, and I get a full blown kickass pay on Friday… I asked Leah if I could take her out for supper on Friday. Just the two of us, no kids. Chris said he could watch them while we go out so that way Leah and I can have a dinner out together and just enjoy each other’s company. Given what’s happened over the last while, some time together to have a pleasent evening is badly needed. I’m dying to hit this sushi place that is not far from where we live, but Leah doesn’t want to go there. We might end up just going to one of the many Chinese places around, which is cool since they all look amazing and very authentic.

Speaking of going out to do fun things, Chris and Ethan are going out to see a cool show. Out of pure luck, Uncle Chris managed to get his hands on two tickets for the ‘Clifford the Beg Red Dog’ live tour that’s playing at the thretre in hamilton today. It’s a live show, and I’m sure Ethan will have a blast. It gets him out of the house and he gets to spend some time with family which he never did for the last three years before so this is all good. I wish I could have been there to enjoy it with him, but I’ll do the next show. There are some really cool kids shows I’m looking into so there’s plenty of fun to go around. Dad doesn’t have to be there for it all.

Chris also took a camera, so I’ll be able to post pictures of the event so that should be fun to see when developed. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and I’ll be around… if things slow down.
