Very, very brief update…

Things have been super busy here in Steel City, but I have a good excuse for being absent from OD all this time. The new novel is going very, very well. How well, you ask? Well, as of tonight I am up to 22,000+ words and counting. My goal is to pass 30,000 words by the end of this week. The story is a tad messed up, but while I haven’t posted any samples for my OD favs, I am looking for the right piece. Haven’t found it just yet… but I will.

It was a busy weekend socially as well. On Friday I met with a writing group here in Hamilton that is also working on the Nanowrimo thing, and talked to them about what they’re doing to make their word count for the month. We ate, drank and had a merry time. Then on Saturday I had a house party with the neighbors I love around. One of the neighbors who I like a lot is moving away to Nova Scotia. This was the good bye party for him and his family. A shame really, cause our kids go along so well.

But today was more of a recover and relax kind of day. I managed to get a thousand or so words to done today and watch the Bills get smoked by the Pats by more than 40 points. Not a pretty site. Could be worse though… the Bills are 5-5 so at least they’re not winless like the 0-10 Dolphins.

So that was my week and weekend in a nutshell. I hope that everyone is doing all right and I’ll be back later this week to either post another update on the novel or mabye even a sample. Until then, take care…

I can’t wait to read part of your new novel. I’m still dying to read the whole “Manifest”… Definitely need some GOOD reading material. Sorry about your neighbor moving away, especially since your kids got along with theirs so well. Good luck as you continue to write. xoxoxo…
