Update on my 101 goals (Day 12)
It’s been 12 days since my quest to complete 101 goals in 1001 days has started. I am taking my goals very seriously and working hard to make sure most if not all of them are completed in the time allotted. With that said I have an update: I have completed two tasks.
037. Take Leah to see a once in a lifetime concert
This one was accomplished on day 2. October 2nd was the day I took her to see a band that will likely be elected into the Rock & Roll hall of fame this year… KISS. So that counts as one task completed… cause that is a once in a lifetime show and we had an amazing time.
052. Do something nice for a complete stranger
In order to accomplish this goal, I went to a website that was recommended by a friend called Wish Upon a Hero. Basically the purpose of this website is for people to reach out to complete strangers in need of help and do something to better their lives. I found one that really touched my heart and reached out to offer that person help. There is a family in Missouri that is trying to raise a two year old boy but are running out of clothes for him to wear. My son Jon is already wearing size 3 and 4 clothes and all his 24 month and size 1 stuff is too small. I packed a small box with about 30 pieces of clothing stuffed into it and sent it to Missouri last weekend. Some thick sweaters and jeans will keep Zach warm this coming winter, something for someone I don’t even know.
And now updates on goals that are partically complete:
040. Attend ten concerts (1/10)
1.) KISS @ Air Canada Center, Oct 2nd 2009.
I know this is double dipping, but I set it up that way. Tough luck to those who think this is cheating. I still have 9 more to go and they’re all not going to be once in a lifetime concerts…
063. Read one book a month (1/34)
1.) The Lost Symbol (Dan Brown)
Was a decent book, but I was a little put off by the ending which I thought a tad too preachy. In all though, a great read and recommended for those who liked the other Langdon books.
073. Write a legitmate letter of complaint to seven major corporations (1/7)
I’m not sure if this counts as a ‘major’ corporation, but it’s a letter of complaint to a corportation that makes a specific food. I wrote a letter to the company ‘Hungry Man’ about one of their premade dinners that was while good to eat, extremely spicy and hot. I let them know that something that hot (it was hotter than the next item I talk about) should have a warning on the box to make sure people are prepared to handle it before taking it on. A legitimate gripe… and I will update when I hear back from someone.
088. Eat the entire Volcano menu at Taco Bell (1/3)
1.) The Volcano Taco
On Friday past, I had the first of three items on Taco Bell`s Volcano menu… the Volcano taco. Believe it or not, I really liked it. It was hot and spicy as hell, and I actually turned a shade of red when eating it in my work cafeteria, but I finished it. So the two items left on the menu is the Volcano Crunchwrap and Volcano Beef Burrito. I will eat them both in the coming weeks!
So that is the update on the goal list for now. I am in the process of getting ready for my next Nano project. I`ll get into more details later but for now that`s all from here in the Hammer. Hope everyone on my side of the border had a great Thanksgiving and didn`t fill up on too much turkey!
Peter

I’ve read the new dan brown book too. LOL I couldnt resist. My birthday was last week and I ‘treated’ myself to an early birthday gift from myself to get it.
