Update: Alive but so, so exhausted…

The last three months have been brutal, and I mean that in a good way. It’s not just because we have a newborn baby that isn’t sleep through the night, but rather having three kids under three and there was never a moment when all three were asleep at once. Needless to say mommy and I are dead tired despite trying our best to work as a team and give each other shifts to sleep.
Owen is four months old now, and while it’s been fun to watch him grow and get so big… I’ve barely gotten any work done, book dates have been pushed back and this is my first OD entry of 2025. Yeah, it’s been that busy and crazy at Pete’s place. He’s starting to sleep in 3-4 hour blocks at night, so we are seeing progress… and are hoping Owen will be sleeping through the night in a month or so. There’s a light at the end of this tunnel, and we just have to push forward and things will get better.
(My little dude is 4 months old, but is pretty happy these days!)
Despite the crazy hours and late, late nights up… raising our new little boy has been a privilege and it brings back memories to when Ethan and Jon were that young and innocent. It feels weird holding a new son in my arms and watching smile and coo at me with such joy in his face. It literally feels like yesterday my other boys were that small and yet today they’re both old enough to vote and drink. Time flies so fast when you’re having fun…
Speaking of time flying, Katherine is only a few months away from 6 years old and will be starting grade 1 in September. I’m making plans to take Kat to her first Blue Jay game at the dome this summer, which is like a rite of passage in my household. I took both Ethan and Jon to their respective first Jays games when they were both 6 so I am determined to do the same for Katherine. There are many games to pick from this summer, and I will no doubt get a great deal on stub hub and not break the bank to get decent tickets.
Katherine is also getting into watching movies big time now. She is dying to see the new How To Train Your Dragon film which released a week after her birthday, so Ethan, my brother Chris, and I will take her out for lunch and to the movie as our gift for her. She also wants to see the new Snow White movie so we’ll check it out later this week… hopefully she’ll enjoy it. I’m dying to see the new Superman movie which looks awesome!
So, while I haven’t been too active here, I will make an effort to do better and make more Owen/movie updates as the year goes on. I hope everyone else is having a kickass 2025, and that with spring and summer coming things will get better.
Until then, take care everyone!
Peter
