Toast, Apple Juice and Shakespeare
Last night I was trying to clock a little OT, and two extras hours later I wasn’t feeling good. By the time I got home, I was barfing up a storm and paying homage to the porcelyn king. I spent most of the night going back and forth from the bedroom to the bathroom and vice versa. Needless to say, I didn’t go to work today. So I spent my morning today lying in bed, eating dry toast and drinking apple juice while watching TV on the small set in my bedroom. There was nothing good on TV, so I used my handy VOD (Video On Demand) option and bought an old move for $2. I ordered Kenneth Branagh’s victorian adpatation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, and it was a lot of fun to watch again for the millionth time.
It’s a great movie and one that I enjoyed lying down in bed to watch to pass the time and recover. It’s got a great cast, with a young Kate Beckinsale playing Hero and that guy who plays Dr. Wilson in ‘House’ playing young Claudio. Combine that with amazing performances from Danzel Washington playing Don Pedro to the completely over the top Michael Keaton as Dogberry makes this a classic that any fan of the classic plays will love to watch. It made the day easier to tolerate as I vegged out and recovered…
It’s mid-afternoon and I am feeling a little better. I was able to eat some soup have some popcorn, so I’m able to keep food down. Chances are good that I’ll be able to go back to work tomorrow. For now I’m going to spend the rest of the night relaxing and resting up for tomorrow. I think everything should be all right by then, and then I’ll be posting tomorrow’s entries from there. Until then, I’m gonna get a little more rest before supper. Hope everyone has a good Thursday and I’ll try to be around later on and leave some notes with my favs. Until then, take care…

that was a great adaption of the book! I like the all star cast as well!

Dogberry is far and away the best minor character in a Shakespeare play. Though it’s a close call with the gate keeper in Macbeth

You refer to the fine vintage of actor playing Dr. James Wilson on House as “that guy”?! Robert Sean Leonard, dude!
