Time for a little ink?
For a while I have been considering getting my first tattoo.
I want something small, out of the way and very easy to hide. Needless to say if I don’t chicken out, you will not be seeing me with sleeves of ink on my arm anytime soon. I was considering a few ideas, and I thought I would run them by my readers for their consideration and comments.
Tattoo Idea #1: Saw Puzzle piece
I thought this one would be cool because only fans of the Saw horror films would recognize what this means. I would want one that looks a little more realistic than this but I think it’s an idea if one wants to make a small homage to a decent suspense movie.
Tattoo Idea #2: Batman Logo
This is one tattoo that would never go out of style. Batman has always been cool and likely will be for decades to come. Simple, one color and it can’t be that hard to get done, right?
Tattoo Idea #3: World Of Warcraft Logo
I like this one for two reasons. First, it’s a killer logo that is the symbol for the heroes of a very popular online video game. Two, even when World Of Warcraft is long gone, if that ever happens, the lion is still a symbol of leadership and strength and will forever be looked upon as a cool tattoo. So something that will look cool no matter what.
Tattoo Idea #4: Jean Valjean’s Prison Number
This is one tattoo I have been considering for a long time. I came across this picture a while back, and I like how the colors of the numbers mimic the flag of france where the novel/musical is based. And yes, Valjean’s prison number was the influence for the number in my username … which is a double meaning for me. I’ve been using Peter_24601 as my username for not only Open Diary, but also for my hotmail account and countless other websites for over 15 years. That’s why I wouldn’t mind tattooing this number to my arm, like Valjean had in the literature and the musical.
So those are the four tattoos that I am considering. While there is a good chance I might chicken out and get none (a very good chance) if I were to one day get a tattoo, chances are it would be one of the four posted above.
So tell me what you think of my tattoo ideas? Which one do you think I should go with if any?
I’m off for bed, everyone have a good night and I’ll be back later to read your insightful comments. Until then, take care.
Peter
I like the puzzle piece but for a different reason. I’ve never seen the movie so I dont know the meaning. But I like it as the symbol for autism. I really like 24601. The character. The story. It’s my favourite musical so I lean heavily towards that. 🙂

I vote for the prison number. Not only is Les Misérables a great piece of classic literature, but because of your diary, the tattoo would also have a personal meaning to you as well. Most people only get pop culture tattoos because they’re really cool at the time. Yes, it represents a point in your personal history. But, is it something you would still feel strongly about 20+ years from now?

Sure, the Batman tattoo is a classic. But, honestly, tons of guys get superhero logo tattoos. A bit overrated, imho. But, the prison number is more unique.

I dont think any really. I dont think its the best idea to get a movie or game or book tattooed on yourself. Even if you loved it and it was the best you’ve ever seen.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a tattoo that came from a book or movie. The stories might come and go, but certainly no quicker than you yourself. I think there’s importance in what we feel from the movies we love. Get them all. Have them all tied in to one interesting tattoo. A good artist can make it happen.

I like the last idea the best. I always wondered about that number. RYN: You’re right, but I’m taking out the insurance anyway. 😉
