Things are looking up…

I had the boys for the weekend, and we had a lot of fun. The pool is open for the summer and the boys are like fish. I swear they’d stay in the water all day if I let them and they tuckered themselves out every day in the pool over the extended three day weekend.

I got Jon a new life jacket to help him stay above water, but truth is he can reach the bottom now if he stood on the tips of his toes. The first day Jon was clinging to everyone, but the second time we went in, he didn’t want anyone’s help and was moving around the pool like a little fish. both of these boys love the water, even bathtime is not a chore for this reason.

So after the boys took off after their extended visit, I had some business to take care of. A job that I had applied for a while back finally got back to me and asked me to show up for a group interview. I’ve done these kind of interviews before and while some have been all right, others were not so good (Apple). Regardless of my opinion on group interviews, I went to this one and it went really well. They were very friendly and the questions and activities they had us all do were very user friendly and fun to do, which made for a happy go lucky interview.

I must have done all right with that interview because I got a call back for a second interview, and that one on one session will be later today around twelve thirty. I am excited to get this far, and I went an extra step by getting the mop chopped:

A little shorter than I wanted it, but it’s only hair… it will grow back. I had really let it grow out for the last several months and I was actually keeping it long for a film project that I was eager to take part in. The production has been delayed, so I felt it was safe to chop the mop and look a little better for the interview.

I found out a few days ago that my landlord is out of town. He and the wife went on a cruise and won’t be back until next week. Since I don’t have the kids, I decided to take advantage of the BBQ and pool in the backyard and hold a little pool party! I’ve invited a good handful of people and I’m hoping at least a good few of them show up. In this summer weather, who can really resist an invitation for free burgers and a pool to swim in? I think not many so it will be fun to hang out and mingle with some friends I haven’t seen in a while.
