Things are going well…

Things always seem to feel better when there is a steady cheque. I got my first big cheque from the new job and I feel great about it. Full time hours do make a world of difference and things seem to be on the up and up finally for a change. Here are a few updates I would like to share:

1) My trip to New Orleans has been cancelled. I had a feeling I wasn’t going to attend, not because I didn’t want to but from a lack of time to save the necessary funds. Hopefully in another thirty years I’ll still be around to attend the next one. None of my brothers are going either and while that disappoints my Dad who wants us to meet distant relatives, if he really wanted us to attend that badly… he could have contributed coin to aid our journey.

2) I’ve been invited to attend a test screening for a part I have been dying to get. This is a lead role in an independent feature length film. I spoke with the director and a few of his buds who are assisting with the production a few weeks ago. The fact that I am being invited to do this test screening means my odds of getting this great role have improved. It’s a great part, the script is really good, and I will show up to this screening and do my best to secure the part. I’m very excited about this…

3) The new book is going well, and I plan to finish writing it by the end of March. I’m already making plans to work on my next novel. This one is going to be fiction and I am going to do a lot of research for this one as well. I’ve been collecting books from the local library and I also have an interview set with someone who I think will be a wealth of information. I want to base my next novel’s main character after this person and his history, so it will make for a very, very interesting project. So as far as my writing os concerned, I’ve got some great things planned for 2012.

4) I went to see a comedy show tonight. I haven’t done stand up in a while and I don’t plan on doing it anytime soon. I’m taking a bit of a break from the stand up because I’ve just got too much on my plate and I don’t want to half ass it. I’ve got the acting thing I’m working on, the books, the new job and the kids. Way too much to include comedy in there with it to. Something had to go so I decided to give the stand up a break for now.

5) Going out for a coffee date today, just to sit down and chat with someone who seems pretty cool. I’m not the kind of guy who wants to rush into anything right now, so I’ll take things easy for the time being. I’ll let everyone know how that goes.

So I’ve got a fair bit going on here. I hope everyone else had a pretty decent weekend and I’ll be around to post more entries and leave notes later on in the week. Until then, take care!

Peter
