Sunday Recap
Lunch with Mandy was pretty cool. We both took the time to wear something nice, so it seemed more than a friendly get together. We went out to a very nice place that was quiet and gave us time to talk while our meal was being prepared. Table for two by the window with a small candle lit, it was very pleasant. Mandy is just out of a relationship that last three years, and I knew how she was feeling at this particular time. She couldn’t help but talk about her ex every now and then and I was there to listen and be a good friend.
We had a good time and she hinted that she wanted to see my next stand up act, which is going to be February 7th, so that might be a lot of fun. After lunch was over, I asked her if she wanted to go see a movie, since the mall was only a block away and I had nothing to do. She appreciated the offer but declined, stating that she had already made plans to meet some girlfriends later in the day. It was perfectly understandable since everyone has been trying to hang with her since she ditched the boyfriend and has more time on her hands.
I walked her back to her bus stop and we hung out and talked a little longer until her bus arrived and that was it. I enjoyed myself and I got the impression that she did to. But I know what she’s going through right now. She’s in limbo and just trying to get over a break, not the time to be looking for anything but some friends to lean on. I’m happy I was able to help her get out of the house and take her mind off things. I hope she’ll agree to hang out again sooner rather than later cause she’s a nice person whose compnay I greatly enjoy.
After seeing Mandy off, I went to the mall to meet up with my brother Chris. He was just finishing a shift at work (guard duty) and I swung over to give him the 411 on how things with with Mandy. He was glad I had a good time then told me since I owed him a few bucks, I should take him out to a movie and hang with him. Seeing that there were some decent movies out, I agreed. Chris and I enjoy checking out movies together, so we went to see that new movie that starred Liam Neeson, that movie about the killer wolves titled ‘The Grey’. It was a brutal film and for a moment I didn’t like how it ended as it seemed to leave things up in the air and then ran the credits. But there’s a extra scene after the credits that gave me the closure I was looking for so that tipped the scales for me and I walked out rather satisfied.
So my Sunday went very well… now I’m back to work today and will be working all week since I don’t get the kids this weekend. I hope everyone has a good Monday and I’ll be back later before work to post another entry and catch up with my favs. Until then… take care!
Peter
