Seven days until MEAT LOAF…
This time next week, I’ll be getting ready to see what could be the best concert I’ll see this year. Last weekend, I went to the box office to get the tickets for Meat Loaf. I was going to buy the tickets last month but when I went to the ticket office, they said only the upper deck was left over. Since those were the only seats left, I passed on it thinking I’d get them later since I had my doubts they would all sell before the show. So I went back last weekend to get the tickets and found out that a block of floor seats were released and available for purchase. So my options were upper deck or floor seats less than a hundred feet away from the stage. No brainer here: I took the floor seats. I can’t wait to see this show, it’s going to be a blast!
I also purchased three tickets. It cost a pretty penny to get, but it was worth it. The other two tickets are going to my older and younger brothers. I’m taking them out, which is cool cause the show is two days before my younger brother’s birthday. We’ll go out for dinner before the show and consider it a birthday bash. He loves Meat Loaf as well so he’s primed and eager to check out the show. It’s going to be a good time for all of us. Like I said in previous entries, I wanted to spend more time with my brothers, and I hope this show does just that. It’s going to be what I hope are the first of a few times out in the next while together. My older and younger brother don’t hang out that much, so this is a good chance to get them in the same spot and to mend some fences. I think we’re all going to have a bitchin’ time and everything else will just fall into place.
I wish Leah was going with us. I asked her several times if she wanted to go, but she saw Meat Loaf already years back and doesn’t want to see him again. She’s got the Nelly Furtado show next month anyway so I think she’s cool with that. I’ve got some special plans for that night as well, just to make it a little more romantic and cooler for her. I hope she likes them. It’s going to be a fun night, and I’m even making plans for the next concert to take Leah out to. Here are some possible nominees:
– May 19th in Hamilton (Copps Colliseum): Rod Stewart
– May 30th in Toronto (Air Canada Center): Gwen Stefani
– June 25th in Toronto (Air Canada Center): Faith Hill & Tim McGraw
– Setp 9th in Toronto (New BMO Field): Genesis
These would all be interesting shows to check out. I think the one show Leah would love to watch out of them all would be the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw show. She’s a huge country fan and hasn’t seen those two perform yet. It sounds like an ideal gift for Mother’s Day, eh? Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing Rod Stewart myself. I think he’s a cool cat and would put on a bitchin’ show. I know this cause this is a tour featuring his own greatest rock hits. He’s ditched the songbook stuff for now and is doing all his own classics which I am sure will please the fans just fine. As much as I would love to see any of those shows, I might skip them all to check out some sports events instead. I’m dying to check out a baseball game, and will go alone if I have to. Good news is I won’t have to as a friend of mine is flying in from the island to visit and wants to see a game too. We’re going to see the Jays take on the Red Sox, so that will be a fun game to check out. I plan to see at least six games this season, or as close to that as possible. Hopefully it will be a fun season to follow the jays with.
I have plans, but I won’t let them get in the way of family but at the same time I’m not going to spend this summer sitting on my hands either. I plan to keep working at the new center, keep writing the book and other stuff until I’m blue in the face but this extra stuff will keep me sane during that process. It’s important cause we all know that all work and no play makes Peter a very, very bitchy person. Tis true, so I’m doing this for everyone else… yeah, that’s it!
Have a good Tuesday everyone and I’ll see you around.
Peter

I suggest avoiding Gwen Stefani, i went to her concert the last time she was here, and it wasn’t that great. Keep in mind im not her biggest fan, but still. She took forever to come on stage, at the beginning, end and even during outfit changes. I felt like we were always waiting 😛 .. the other choices sound much better! Enjoy Meatloaf and whatever other concert you decide on 🙂

I say rod stewart or genesis. Great score on meat loaf!

If you go to a Gwen Stefani concert, regardless of the action it may or may not guarantee you later that night, I will drive from Detroit to wherever you are in Ontario and kick you in the balls. Hard. 🙂 * echoes popeye *

Actually, you know what I’d love to do? See the Tigers-Jays in Toronto in April if I get the chance. That’s my spring break. Do tickets go really quickly at Rogers?

gwen or faith and tim. gwen would probably be a funner concert, but faith and tim are the most talented on this list, if you ask me

I looked up Genesis last night, and I don’t think I can name or recall a single song by them… am I that much of a philistine?
