Rock Legend coming to the Island!

Some call it coincedence, I call it fate.

During the two months when Leah and the kids are going to be away from the island and playing in the Tennessee sun… it’s been recently announced that a Rock God will be making an apperance on our little island. I only just found out and tickets are already on sale, and I’ve been a fan of this guys music for a very, very long time. I think this is going to be his first show on the island, so I think a lot of people are going to be amazed. Since the timing of this concert is absolutely perfect, I have to land some tickets for this show, maybe get one or two more to take some friends with me to. I still can’t believe he’s coming to the island…

That’s right, ALICE FUCKING COOPER is coming to the island! How freaking amazing is that? There is no way I am going to miss this show… and while it would have been fun to take Leah with me to the show, she’s not going to be here so this might be a chance to go out with the guys and just hang out downtown after the show too. There’s no listing of an opening act, so it’s just going to be Alice from start to finish and he’s always known for putting on a wicked show, so I would be very, very disappointed if I missed this show. The concert is going to happen on May 1st, which is a Monday but like that matters. I was talking to a few friends at work today, trying to tell them it would be a cool night out to get tickets and check out the show. Wouldn’t be fun to see the show alone, it will be kickass to see the show with a few buds and then maybe hit the bars afterwards for a few drinks and let the ringing in our ears die down.

It seems too good to be true, but this is gonna happen. I don’t care how much the tickets cost… cause come May 1st I am going to be on the floor and enjoying what I think will be a kickass concert. It’s also nice to have something to look forward to months from now as well, I’ve been a fan of Alice Cooper for over 20 years, and it was the album titled “Constrictor” that first hooked me and I’ve been listening ever since. The that came out in 1989 titled Trash is one of my all time favorite album even though a lot of people think it’s too mainstream but technically a bitchin’ album non the less. I had a chance to see Alice at the SkyDome that year in Toronto… but I was unable to make it as circumstances beyond my control worked against me. This time I’m going to make a bigger effort to check out the show. I don’t want to let a good chance to see what I consider to be a Rock Legend pass by twice. So it’s basically decided, since I’m the only one going to be here for the show, I really don’t need anyone’s permission and I am going to be there for that concert. Like I said before, it will be nice to have something to look forward to, now let all the notes about how evil he is and I am for wanting to see this show begin!

I remember that one of the first songs that struck a chord (pun intended)with me was I’m Eighteen, which came out…five years before you were born. Alice Cooper has been around a long, long time. He has a gig as a DJ for one of those radio networks that feature canned music. I like it, because he plays music from my dissoloute youth.

“Schooool’s… out… FOR… EVER… dum ta-da dum I used to work for the company that makes PING golf clubs, and was surprised he was a regular visitor. (Alice Cooper – golf??) Was bummed I never got to meet him, but got a kick out of hearing that another receptionist named Alice answered the phone one day and heard, “Hey, my name is Alice too!” He brought her an autographed poster.

The man was goth before goth was cool, if it ever really was. I like some of his music, but I dont know if I could sit through one of his concerts. Then again, I’ve never liked big crowds, which is why I dont usually go to concerts.

That’s funny. Alice Cooper has been here to Norway a lot lately. He even made an appearance on the Norwegian version of Big Brother a couple years ago.

Thanks for reading my diary and your responses. Two months without your family! I guess you should be looking for ways to fill the gap. CanÂ’t say IÂ’d choose Alice Cooper myself, but for you, IÂ’m glad heÂ’s coming to Newfoundland.

When Bush won/forged the last election, I looked for Newfoundland real estate on-line, though I couldnÂ’t get my kids serious about relocating before we all settled into complacency.
