Overtime, Sopranos and Pizza…
It’s Sunday, and I’m back at work. Even though I had the weekend off, I couldn’t resist coming in to do a little Overtime. I guess this insane work ethic comes from my father cause he spent the better part of this weekend doing a little OT of his own. We’re both working for a little cash for the wedding coming up. I can’t wait, it will be nice to get the hell off the island even just for a few days. It will also be nice to hang out in TO for a while, catch a wedding… eat some great food, and let my family meet my kids. That last part is the one I’m looking forward to that night. I’m going to skip the free bar and go clean and take care of the kids, just so that can go and meet everyone. I’ll have plenty of time to get drunk and fart around for two months when I get home, so let Leah have all the fun. My brother can’t drink, due to an allergy so he’s going to help out as well with the kids so it will be fun to hang out with him. Should be a lot of fun and I’m going to take a crapload of pictures, especially of Ethan in his 3 piece suit.
But until then, I got to get through this week’s work, including tonight’s OT. The reason why Video is so busy tonight, is because of the Season Six premiere of ‘The Sopranos’. We’re ringing off the hooks with orders for HBO like there is no tomorrow. I mean there is no other show on TV that gets this much attention and floods us wth so many calls… it’s enough to make someone sit back and go, “whao”. You know the show is popular when cable companies double staff to take orders on the night of a season premiere. I can’t think of another show on any network that causes that to happen. Just amazing. We’ve got people calling in and upgrading their service by $20 a month just to get one show. I guess HBO is making a mint tonight, which makes it a shame this is the last season. The demand for the show is high, but people don’t realize that if they have the On-Demand option with their cable service, they can order the episode anytime they want this week and not miss it. So tonight is the do or die night to watch the show thanks to technology.
Speaking of cable technology, my DVR is doing a little OT itself, taping the shows I would have missed while I’m here at work doing extra time. That way I won’t miss my favorite show to make a little extra dough. Gotta love that kind of technology, eh? It also means that Leah and I can go out and have dinner with friends, drink downtown and do all that cool stuff without missing shows as the DVR can save pretty much anything up to 30-40 hours worth. It’s a handy thing to have around, I mean even to the point where I’ll have the thing recording while I’m away at the wedding in Toronto. Cool eh?
Well, I’d love to yabber on forever… but things are getting insane here at the center. At least I’m getting free pizza for this as well. Hmmm… Pizza. Everyone have a good sunday and I’ll be around.
Peter
I have HBO but I’m not watching the Sopranos. In fact, I’ve never watched it. I am watching the Simpsons right now though. *laugh* I’m such a classy chick.
