One Day More…

Things are well here in Steel City. I’m doing my thing to get ready for the big shoot tomorrow. I’m going to be picked up at 7:30am here in Hamilton and driven to the set in Toronto. It’s nice that I didn’t have to arrange my own transport this time out. I’m going to be driven to and from the set this time out, and all I have to worry about is being there and saying my lines. I’ve been going over them as much as I can, and I’ve got a good feel for them so far. There’s nothing too complicated there, nothing too long that I’m going to stumble over, and there’s going to be a lot of cuts in the scene so I’m not going to have to have to say a lot of it in a row, so no long speils are going to be required. I’ll have time and breaks to go back and go over it again later if I want.

Chances are this shoot is going to consume my entire day. I don’t anticipate getting back to Hammer Town until at least around 8pm. When it’s all said and done the scene we are going to shot will accound for around 3-5 minutes out of 80 in this feature length film. And you wonder why it takes so long and so much money to shoot your favorite hollywood epic? I’m looking forward to my first feature set, and hope it will be just as much an experience as working on last month’s short film. That’s just one thing going on this weekend…

As of right now, my Sunday is now booked as well. I have an audition Sunday morning at 11am. It’s in Toronto, so that means I’ll be busing back into Toronto the next morning after doing an all day shoot the previous day. Like my Dad so eloquently said when I broke the news to him this morning, that’s going to go over with Leah like a lead fart. I don’t like the idea of being absent all weekend, but the audition is for another feature film. This one looks like it has a much bigger budget, which I am hoping will equal into a lovely little payday for yours truly. I’m hoping that little detial will make Leah a little happier. The project looks interesting and the side I received is very well written. The role I am appling for is much bigger than the role I have with this film, as he’s a bad guy who is trying to overthrow a company owned by one of the principal characters. A pivitol character who has a significant presence and a good amount of quality lines. There is no way I could turn down this audition.

One feature film is gonna look amazing on my resume, so I would love to add another… especially so soon. So things are looking up and moving the only way I know how right about now, very quickly. I’ve not heard back from the Pilot I auditioned for last week, but I was told they were going to take a few weeks to get back to me about that. I hope they don’t wait too long cause if they do, I might not have the time to do anything with them by the time they get back to me! 😉

So that’s the update from here for now. I hope everyone else is doing well. This time tomorrow I will be on the set and either in make up or getting ready to shoot the first scene. I’m a little nervous but also very excited… it’s going to be one hell of a weekend! I hope everyone else has a good weekend and I’ll be back later with a recap of how things went and with pictures when it’s all done. Until then, take care and I’ll see ya around!

🙂 You really are excited! I think it’s great news. But why don’t you just stay over in Toronto, if you’re just going to have to go back anyways? Seems silly to spend all that time traveling. I know you probably want to be home… but still.

Nar: It will only cost $9 each way to bus in and out of Toronto on Sunday, so to sit on the bus for 45 min each way is a small price to pay rather than fork over $100 for a hotel room, which I can’t affort to pay right now. Besides, I want to come home and at least be back for a few hours to spend time with the family for a little bit before I head back out the next day.

RYN: Sheesh, for $9 that makes a ton of sense. I was thinking it’d be something like $40, which is why I suggested it. For some reason I always think Hamilton is so much farther away.
