Odds and Ends, kinda..

It’s been a fast and furious week here in the Hammer, and between work, looking for a new sitter, and setting up both daycare for Jonathan and school for Ethan, things have been supersonic and hard to catch up with. But Leah and I have managed to get through it and hope that everything will go off without a hitch, but I’ll tackle each issue at a time to keep everyone up to speed.

As I stated earlier, we are in need of a new sitter. We were very happy with the one we had, but for personal reasons she had to quit and we’ll not be able to use her services anymore. A shame cause she was a good sitter for the kids and didn’t charge us up the wazoo in exchange for other things like being fed or using our landry machines. It was a good arrangement, but now we’ll have to abandon it and pay hand over fist for the next sitter. We put an ad in the paper, and have had a lot of responses. We’re doing interviews over the weekend and are sure we’ll find someone we can work with.

Evey though Jon and Ethan are going to school/daycare this year, we need a sitter because Leah and I work late and we need some one to do pick up and to take care of the rugrats until Mom gets home at 6:30pm. I work until 9pm so I can’t do it, and since Ethan is off at 3pm, extra help is needed. So when it’s all said and done, it’s gonna cost us around $150 – $200 per week to get someone hired and to do the pick up and after school watch. I think it will turn out all right, but it will make things tight. I don’t mind because Ethan needs to go to school and Jonathan needs the social interaction of daycare. I think both of them will adapt very well, hopefully with minimal incident.

Work is going very well for me lately, despite the fact that I didn’t get the promotion. I was told by management that I had an amazing interview so their opinion of me has risen a great deal in the last week, which is always good. Will help the next time I go up for the next promotion they offer. But I didn’t take it bad and was a good sport about it. I try my best to do that whenever I can, and funny thing is others have voiced their disappointment that I didn’t get it so its nice to be apprecaited, even just a bit.

So things are okay over here, next time I post we’ll likely have a new sitter and be ready for the first of many school years. Just the idea gives me the shivers. It feels like it was only yesterday Ethan was just hatched six years ago and I was feeding him his formula. Time really does fly, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. Take care everyone, catch you on the flip side…

Peter
