New home and other Monday crap
Today I did a few things just to pass the time and fart around. For the hell of it, I opened a myspace page, sort of like a backup for this diary. I download the content of this space often, but after the hacker attack and the financial crunch we last last year, I decided to take no chances and set up a back up incase the worst happens. Don’t get me wrong. I love my diary here and will keep posting and paying for the right to be here as long as the site exists. Just sue me for being a worry wart. If you want to view that page, it’s listed under the same username as this diary. I have over 2000 entries here, so later today I’m going to do a search of my best ones and post them over there for filler. Should be cool and another nice place to hang out and just chill. But like I said, a back up to my favorite online site, which is this one.
Jonathan has been a tad restless lately when it comes to his sleeping habits. He’s teething again, and has the biggest teeth from the top finally coming through. Because of that he’s waking up three, four times a night and keep Leah and I up deep into the night. Once those teeth finally fall into place, I’m confident that Jonathan will sleep a lot better and through the night again. It’s not that he doesn’t want to sleep… but can’t when his teeth hurt so much. I feel the little guy’s pain as I know what it’s like lately to be kept up by some sore teeth. He’ll get through it, and Leah and I will too… just like we did for Ethan.
It’s something that will eventually pass with time. While we’re going through this, I’ve been going to bed very, very early and waking up with the little guy to feed him and cuddle while he tries to lull back to sleep. I use my DVR to tape any shows I want to watch and then just watch them whenever the little guy wakes up. That way I don’t miss anything and I don’t lose as much sleep in the process. For example, I taped last weekend’s Saturday Night Live to watch at a later time. I don’t watch the show as much anymore, but this weekend’s guest host intriged me and I was eager to see how it turned out. Hugh Laurie from House was the host, and his performance made it one of the better shows SNL shows I’ve seen in quite a while.
The weather here hasn’t been to pleasent and it couldn’t have happened at a worse time. The big candy collecting day is tomorrow, and I’m afraid if it rains or is really cold, I might have to cancel Ethan’s first trick or treat venture. I have specifically booked tomorrow off, so if the weather behaves, I’ll get him out there quickly and get it over with as fast as I can before the weather takes a turn for the worse. They’re calling for rain tomorrow so I’m not very confident but will do my best to get the little guy out there for a little candy. Jonathan will be a no go cause he’s too young to go out into weather like that. He’ll had to wait until he’s Ethan’s age to go out too.
So here I am back at the center, taking calls and doing the work I need to do to support the family. It’s nothing fancy or glorious but it pays the bills. I’m working on doing bigger and better things, but they take time or money… and since I’m not rich I’ll have to settle for time. I hope everyone is having a good Monday and I’ll be around if things slow down a bit here at the center. Until then, take care…
Peter
i added you on MySpace! i hope jonathan’s teeth come through quick and stop bothering him. that must be so frustrating as a kid to hurt and not be able to understand what’s going on.
