National Novel Writing Update… Day # 3

In a turn of good luck, writing has been a little easier over the last few days than it has been over the course of this year. The words are just pouring out and I’m trying to get as much down as possible. You never know when I’ll run into a wall and just stop writing, so I’m trying to get as much done while I can. The story is picking up really well, and I’ve got to get a grip on where I want to go with this or I might lose track and hit a roadblock. After three days of writing, here is where I stand right now:

Chapters finished: 4

Pages Written: 33

Current Word Total: 8,241

For only three days into the project, this is a great start. My goal was to have 10,000 words finished by the end of week one. Now I’m gonna try to have between 15,000 – 20,000 by that time. I’m very, very happy with the writing so far. I’m glad the the samples I’ve posted so far have received rave reviews so far. I think one reason why I’m doing so well is the story is something I’m excited to write about. I’ve got a good slate of characters and they’re going to be put through the wringer of the typical suspense novel. There will be chases, close calls, and not everyone is going to make it out alive. But when it’s all said and done, I’m hoping the readers will have something to chew on and think about.

To say I’m excited about the work done so far would be a complete understatement. I’m currently cleaning up the forth chapter before moving on to number five. When I finish cleaning up this chapter, I’m going to take a small snippet and make it the next sneak peek. That one will post tomorrow morning. Until then, eveyrone take care and have a good friday!

Nice! I’ve got almost 5000 words, and I’m pretty excited about that.
