Mondays…. well… you know

It was an easy going weekend here on the island. I was tempted to work some overtime, but chose not to. I was stressed out beyond the max and not really in a working mood. It was for the best as I stayed home and with Leah did a lot of overdue cleaning and tossed out a lot of crap that we don’t need or use anymore. We needed to do that to clear space and make the place a little easier to navogate.

On Saturday afternoon, I was still a little bummed out, so Leah suggest that I go out and get a little air and get away from both house and work. My friend Craig called up and asked if I wanted to catch a movie with him and this seems like the perfect chance to get away from it all even if it was just for a few hours. The distraction was just what I needed. Craig and I went to see the new Chris Nolan film titled ‘The Prestige’ which starred Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as two magicians who had a huge rivalry that took both men to the edge and beyond. I really enjoyed watching this movie, and while the ending was a tad predictable… it was shocking to see how far the characters were willing to go in order to one up their rival. Jackman and Bale were quite the duo as they tried to one up each other. It was a good movie, and while I didn’t think Leah would like that kind of movie, it was very entertaining and had some good twists at the end.

I was tempted to do a little OT the weekend, but decided not to. I just didn’t have the energy to go back in that weekend and it was for the best that I didn’t. I needed the time away and feel better this week for not going in. While I know Leah and I could probably use the money, it could have cost us in the end if I don’t take an occassional break when needed. I wasn’t able to get Ethan out of the building cause it was raining, but we kept him busy and active as much as we could. The rain also never stopped me from going out and picking up stuff at the grocery store so I had plenty of chances to get out for some air that weekend.

But here I am back at the center, hitting the old grindstone again. I don’t have another day off until Friday, but that’s okay. I haven’t had a Friday off in a while so I’m looking forward to it. I hope everyone else has a decent Monday and if things are slow I’ll try to be around to leave a few notes. Until then, take care…

I know what you mean about OT. My job doesn’t allow it, but when my other one did, it paid well…but…you just felt like going home. Worth it in the end, sanity-wise. Even on a weekend when I had no plans, I did it maybe twice.
