Let’s do lunch!
I’m getting ready to take the boys back to their mother. Usually I give them back around noon because it takes them a few hours to settle down and back to their usual routine. The last thing Leah needs while trying to do dinner and what not is to have the kids unsettled so earlier makes things easier for her to get them back on track.
I’m a little excited today. After I drop the boys off with their mother, I am meeting someone for lunch. There is this really nice lady, who for the sake of this diary I will be referring to as Mandy. I’ve known Mandy for over three years, and we’ve been good friends. We met at the last call center I worked at, and even though neither of us have worked there in a while, we still talk and have met for coffee on ocassion.
When we both first met, we were both in a relationship with other people. Today when we sit down for lunch, it will be the first time we share company as two single people. My intentions are only to be a complete gentlman and have a good time with a good friend. She’s less than a month out of a multi-year relationship and I think she needs time. I’m almost two years out and I’m still working through my stuff.
I’m going to treat today’s lunch as good times with a good friend and I’ll leave where things go up to her. To me just the pleasure of her company itself is a treat, and if that is all I walk away from this lunch with, I consider myself very lucky.
In all, it just feels good to get out there and hang out with people and what not. Another perk to being employed again is that I can afford to have even a minimal social life.
I will update later… everyone have a great Sunday!
Peter
Sounds like you’re going to have a great day. Do you still have that lady staying at your house?

Did Mandy give without taking? That is from an old Barry Manilow song (Oh Mandy), you probably have no clue what I am talking about, I am showing my age đŸ™‚ Anyway, sounds like a great time.
