Jon’s 2nd Birthday and other things…
Today my youngest son, Jonathan turns the terrible two. Since we’re spending so much on Xmas… we’ve gone rather light on Jonathan’s birthday this year. He’s only two, and we never made too much of a hoopla about Ethan’s first two big days either. But it’s amazing how fast time flies by as Baby Jon as Ethan calls him is now two full years old. To celebrate that, I did buy something for the little guy while I was at the mall picking up a few things. I saw this really cool kids t-shirt and I just couldn’t resist. Check it out:

That is just about the coolest shirt I have ever seen! There were so many kid T’s to pick from, but this was by far the coolest they had there and it was an easy choice. Grandma and Grandpa are coming in from Tennessee this weekend and since they are HUGE Country music fans, I am sure it will impress the hell out of them…
So I’ve technically got all my shopping done. I don’t have anything else to buy. But I’m making plans for something special for this weekend. Even though Leah is really iffy about this, I want to have an open house at my house on Sunday. My Mom & Dad used to do this every year just before Xmas when I was young. They would invite all their neighbors and close friends over less than a week before the big day just to hang out, exchance Xmas cards and eat a crapload of homemade munchies. My favorite part was that Mom would always cook Apple Cider on the stove, which is always nice, especially when the weather is this cold outside.
Since Mom & Dad are coming in this Friday and are going to crash here for the week, I thought it would be cool to invite neighbors as well as many close friends of Mom & Dad to come visit for an open house. That way they get to see many peopel they haven’t seen in a while, and this will be the first open house like festive party done in fifteen years. I’d say we were due…
I’ve got a lot of cleaning, decorating and food preparation to do, but I’m determined to make it happen. Should be a lot of fun, and if this does go ahead as planned, I will take pics and video with the new digital camera. Until then, everyone have a great week!
