January 20th, 2009: the end of an error…

On Tuesday, one of America’s biggest mistakes will finally be corrected… as George W. will finally take his walk of shame. The people will celebrate the end of an error (not era) that was made in Florida over eight years ago. While it took a lot of time for this mistake to be shown the door… better late then never! For those who were brave enough to watch the last address of King George, I’m sure many of you were thinking the same thing I was as he was yabbering away in his own little fantasy world: just go already and don’t let the door hit you on the way out Georgie!

A friend of mine honestly thought Bush was actually going to declare Martial Law tonight and take over indefinitely. I’m happy to say that did not happen, but it still wasn’t pretty. King George really stepped up and gave it his best shot, but he seemed more desperate to protect his own legacy than he was about giving a fond farewell to the people.

This man truly lives in a bubble, and tonight’s speech pretty much capped off what was the most embarassing and possbily corrupt administrations in US history. Next week, George W. Bush will step down with the second highest disapproval rating ever… only Nixon’s depature was more unpopular than Bush’s and that tells you something right there.

It’s clear that Bush has low self-esteeem. He had to make his last televised address in front of a hand-picked audience to give him applause. Filling the room up with people that you helped over the years… didn’t some dude in Illinois try something like that at a press conference. Yeah, that guy with the hair being impeached. Clearly ripping off a tactic from a disgraced governor. We have a word for something like that: Desperation.

Bush didn’t then and doesn’t now have a clue about what it takes to be a leader, to be president of his great country, to uphold the constitution. He’s a complete disaster as president. He doesn’t understand the country’s challenges. He never did. It’s a trajedy. His mannerisms screamed inauthenticity. He was simply reading what somebody else wrote. He does not have a clue. Not one clue. Did he even know that a plane crashed in NY today? He was talking about heroics during his speech but couldn’t mention the brave pilot that saved so many lives today? Wait… this is the Prez that doesn’t watch the news or read papers. Sorry.

Contrary to what some might thing, it is a legitimate position to feel that this man was never qualified for this job, and that he carried out his duties with a lack of intellectual curiousity and laziness, combined with a supreme and unflappable arrogance. His leadership represents the penultimate combination of bad qualities: stupid and stubborn. In my opinion, his actions caused death, destruction and general mayhem around the world. He significantly harmed his country with the loss of blood and treasure to a level that is almost unfathomable.

Based on what I have seen, read, and understand, there is nothing anyone can say that would change my opinion. The more anyone tries to talk and defend him, the less respect I have for them on a word by word basis.

My opinion isn’t based on an agenda, it’s based on carnage.

Good riddance Mr. Bush. I hope to never see sociopaths like you in the White House ever again

Bush got elected as a reaction to Clinton’s sleaze, and because of the considerable power of the evangelicals. But to anyone with a brain it was obvious he was an idiot from day one. I am not convinced that the US electorate can’t make the same dumb mistake again.

Good riddance. What strikes me so much about recent political events is how the republican party which once was the party of personal responsibility is now the party of whine-assery and excuses and passing the buck. Poor Katrina response, bad intelligence, 9/11 itself, the economy, (god i’m sure there is more), are all someone else’s fault. Heaven forbid the buck ever actually stop with the..

commander in chief and “decider”. Yet somehow he can still claim responsiblity for us NOT being attacked. Funny how that works. To the new right headed by IHSP everything that goes wrong is the fault of the left, the media, sexism, the media, classism, racism, the media. Did I mention that everything bad that happens is the fault of the media?

The democrats now seem to be the ones admitting mistakes, overcoming obstacles without crying about every single perceived slight. And the republicans are the ones that need to be fitted for diapers as at every turn there is some new scapegoat or excuse why they can’t measure up. I’ver never seen such whining and crying in all my life. It’s really quite pathetic. (end rant)

I prefer to think of it as hopefully the official end of the Dark Ages and beginning of the Renaissance.
