Indian food, fiddles and pictures…
Even though I had every intention of going in yesterday to do a little extra overtime, I decided against it to stay home and be with the family. Turns out Leah needed to pay back some cash into her sister’s account, so I took Ethan out with me and we went to the bank. I didn’t feel like walking a long distance cause Ethan gets a little edgy with long walks, so we took a bus downtown and used the bank down there to deposit the money. After that I thought it would be cool to hang out with my boy downtown and get something cool to eat for lunch.
While walking around downtown, Ethan and I were passing by a fiddler who was playing for money in one of the sqaures down there. Ethan loved the fiddle music to the point where is started to dance around the fiddler and keep dancing as long as he was playing. The fiddler seemed to enjoy the dancing and kept playing for the little guy as long as he went. It was very cute to watch, and everyone walking by thought it was cute as well. After a few minutes of dancing, I decided it was time to take Ethan out for lunch, and since there were some great places down there I like to try whenever I can, I decided to take Ethan out for something new.
There is a great place downtown that serves amazing Indian food, and I thought it would be cool to see how Ethan would react to it. My worst case would have been Ethan just eating rice and nothing else. Turns out, Ethan was willing to try new things and sampled a lot of stuff from the buffet that was being offered for lunch. He had some Beef Curry, some butter chicken (my personal favorite) along with rices and fried potato skins. The little guy did pretty well and ate his fare share, which made his Dad very proud. One funny moment during lunch was when Ethan took something from my plate that was very spicy. It was a carrot, but the veggies I had were spiced and he didn’t realize this. Once in his mouth, he chewed for a few seconds before his eyes opened so wide and he started calling out, “Glass of water! Glass of water!” It was the first time I ever heard Ethan ask for water, usually he prefers juice, but I gave him my water and he sucked down half the glass before relaxing. The little guy stayed away from my veggies, but ate the rest of his rice and beef curry.
After lunch, Ethan and I did a little more browsing before finally calling it a day and heading back home. Leah wasn’t upset about where went for lunch cause she hates Indian food and wouldn’t want to come with us if we had invited her as well. I probably should have tried to get something for her, but I caught the bus so quickly when downtown that it completely slipped my mind. Maybe I’ll do something special for her either later this weekend or next week to make up for it. I’m still trying to make plans for my upcoming Anniversary. I’m thinking of taking her out for dinner to someplace nice that night, maybe go out for a cocktail afterwards. That would be a nice romantic evening to share. We’ll have to look into that. If we can’t get someone to watch the kids, what I might do instead is cook supper for her and make something special that day. Not sure what, but I’ve been looking through the cook books for ideas. Nothing yet, but I’m open to suggestions of you have any…
But for now I’ll end the entry with a few new cool pictures. They are in connection to the previous entry about Ethan’s medical ambitions. Some really cute pictures of the little guy and one of him with me as well. Enjoy them and have a good Friday as well!
