I’m know… it’s been a while

I had to take a bit of a break. For two days in a row, I had limited or pretty much zero access to computers. After working for a while on them, I took two days off to rest my eyes and my head and not to anything but clean up around the house and hang out with my boys. It was good to do that for a while, but on Thursday it was back to the old grind stone and call taking. Not that I can complain about it though, like I stated before this place is a lot better than the last one I worked at. Personally, I would prefer to work at none of them… but until I get off my arse, finish my book and find a literary agent, this is gonna have to do until then.

It’s been a little slow at the center the last few days. Sometimes it got busy, but when it dragged down, it really got slow. I used the time to watch a few episodes of the new show titled ‘Hereos’. I should have known better to invest into another new show, but this one is popular and NBC has picked it up for a full second season so I felt safe to watch it knowing it wouldn’t get the axe. In the last few days, I’ve watched all 11 aired episodes, and I’m hooked. The show is very well written and has an ensamble that is doing rather well and making it a killer series. With Dexter on break, I can handle the extra show, and even though 24 airs at the same time… Chris and I took care of that earlier this week.

Chris went down to the local center and picked up a DVR on Wednesday. I’ve been dying without that thing, and I know Ethan has been a little bored not being able to see his favorite shows on command. Not only did we get a DVR, we got the dual tuner DVR… which means we can record and watch other shows at the same time. So you’re not restricted to stay on the channel when taping. That’s a cool thing cause it will prevent any conflicts when people want to watch the cool shows on the big television in the living room. It also means that if Ethan stays up late, we won’t have to skip other stuff to let him watch his treehouse while having his before bedtime snack. It will make life a little easier and what I like most about is that we won’t allow the TV to dictate our schedule to us, it’s now the other way around. I’ll get back to TV when I’m good and ready.

Speaking of schedules, Leah got a decent payday from the daycare and wanted to do something special with it. We went out for dinner and a movie and apent some time together, just the two of us. We only had fast food for supper, and went to see the movie titled ‘Alpha Dog’, which starred Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone and Justin Timberlake. It was a disturbing, but well made movie. I was impressed with it, and with the cast as well. I was especially surprised with Timberlake’s performance, which was above average. To the point where I seriously hope he quits his dayjob. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that…

Leah and I had a good time out, and I hope we get a chance to do that again. I’m thinking of doing something special for Valentime’s Day but I haven’t figured it out yet. I’m thinking of doing dinner out, and then surprising her with a nice gift. Nothing earth shattering, but I’ll come up with something. Chris thinks I should rent a limo to take us out to dinner. I think that’s a tad over the top, but I’ll burn that bridge when I get to it. For now I’m just at working, taking calls and making the money. What I do with it I’ll figure out later.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Things are slow here right now so I’ll likely be able to hang around and leave a note ore two in the next few hours. If I don’t make it to your diary or leave my two cents here or there, have a good one and I’ll catch you on the flip side…

I must admit, I’ve been impressed with Timberlake’s choices of films. It could have been easy for him to just do what Britney did and have a film written for him. Instead he’s made some interesting choices that show that he wants to actually act. Oh, and Heroes is absolutely amazing.

I really like JT – I didn’t when he was in N’SYNC but I really like his album. I think he’s a really talented performer. I’m considering seeing Alpha Dog myself, but I don’t usually go to the movies. I’m glad that you thought it was good. 🙂

We were wondering where you were. 🙂

Oh man, I LURVE Heroes! Although – full-disclosure – Smallville is still my first love. I know, I’m lame…. A DVR is becoming a necessary addition to quality of life these days, huh? Or at least a VCR! It was much easier when television didn’t really care about quality programming and you were lucky to get four or five good shows on television!!

i can record tv on my computer, but it’s kind of pointless since i only have one channel and although i enjoy the smuttiness of wife swap, i don’t really care if i see it or not 😉 hope you had a good weekend!
