Going to see a few shows…
Even though the money I was waiting for finally came in, I’ve spent most of it on stuff that while I didn’t want to spend it on… I happen to be a bit of a resposnible adult when it comes to things like this. I paid a head a few months on my own rent, paid back some outstanding debts to a few friends and my brother in full and even helped the ex with her rent and bills since the idea of my beautiful boys living on the street didn’t appeal to me very much.
So because of this dumping of cash to help everyone else but myself, I did have a few bucks left over and after sending out a few overdue parcels that I feel back about not sending out yet, I decided to spoil myself just a little bit. I got a few tickets for some shows. The first is coming on June 22nd, which is only a week from this Friday:
I only got one ticket, because I couldn’t find anyone else that wanted to go with me. Rather than buy two tickets and keep looking for someone to tag along… I got one really, really good ticket for myself. I’ve been a fan of Yanni since the early ninties when I bought a copy of his ‘Live at the Acropolis’ album. I still have that album with a few others in my personal collection. I can’t wait to see this show and it should be amazing. Here is my favorite of Yanni’s compositions:
Now in Mid-August, I will be taking my oldest son Ethan to another great event. Almost two years ago I took Ethan to see Walking With Dinosaurs, which was a pretty cool event. I bought four tickets to see it after I got a refund from the U2 concert that was cancelled that same year. To be honest, I found taking Ethan to see the big mechanical dinosaurs a lot more fun and this year we’re going to do it again. This year, the makers of that same Dinosaur show are doing a live event based on the hit movie ‘How to Train Your Dragon’!
Ethan loved that movie, and since he loved ‘Walking With Dinosaurs’ this seemed like a no brainer to me. I’ve got three tickets this time out for myself, Ethan and my brother Chris. I considered getting a ticket for Jonathan but felt that this might not be the best idea for him since he hasn’t done very well at live shows. I’m going to take him to something a little more sensorary friendly for the little guy and take Ethan to see the dragons! These are great seats as we are on the main floor, less than twenty rows from the action. Should be an epic night of Vikings and Dinosaurs, check out this preview of the show:
Now three weeks after we see Dragons at the ACC, I bought tickets to see one more show. I found out when scanning ticketmaster that one of my brothers all time favorite bands was performing here in Toronto on Aug 30th. I like the band as well, but then I found out that my favorite band from the same era would be opening the show. that was enough for me and I got two tickets to see this show:
That’s right, we’re going to see Roxette. This is going to be a great show, also because one of my favorite bands… Canadian band Glass Tiger will be opening the show as well. My brother and I are going to have a great time and I think my brother deserves it for being there for me when I needed help over the last two years since the big break. He’s been supper supportive of myself and the boys, and this is just a small token of my sincere apprecaition.
So at the end of August we’re going to see a few kicking retro bands. I like both bands so it’s going to be a night of killer music and something cool to share with my brother. Here’s a classic video, one of Roxette’s biggest hits for you to check out.
Now don’t be hatin’… just admit it, you’re jealous.

I am jealous. I’d love to see Roxette. I’d also love to see Journey in Hamilton along with Pat Benetar! Glad you are able to do some great things with your settlement. Paying off debt is gratifying for sure.

I feel as if I have to apologize because I had never heard of Yanni and this is the kind of music I like!
