Going on a break…

There is a good chance this will be my last entry on the island. I’ve been here for over 11 years, but all good things come to an end. It’s been a good run here, and I do hope to someday come back if I get the chance. I can’t guarentee it, but it’s a nice thing to hope for.

Leah went home this week to spend some time with her family before we fly out next week. She needed a moment to say goodbye to everyone, especially her Mom and she took Jonathan with her. So it’s been just Ethan and I while I’ve been packing and tossing stuff out right left and center. It’s been non-stop since I left the center and it’s a good thing I did leave early because there I needed this much time to get all this work that I’ve done so far. I have so much more to do, I smell an all nighter coming.

The internet gets disconnected on Monday and I can’t guarentee if I’ll get a connection before the end of the month, which means I have until Monday and not the 30th to finish this book. Between Monday and the move I don’t have a connection to upload the finished product, nor will I at the new place before the end of the 30th. I was hoping to be done the 50,000 words by today, but over the last few days I hit a block, but I’m starting to get over it. Right now I’m hovering around 33,000 words and 19 chapters. It’s moving along… but I need to kick things up a knotch if I plan to make my goal on time.

So I’m going to be quiet over the next few days because I’ll be either writing or packing my ass off but not sure in what order. I wish everyone a good weekend and holiday and when I next post it will be from my new home. Until then, everyone take care and I’ll see you all soon!

UPDATE: It’s 2am, and after working on the computer non stop since Ethan went to bed… I’m going down for the night as well. I’ve just passed 40,000 words and am almost finished Chapter 23. I should have another 5000 finished by the time Leah gets home tomorrow. Hopefully she’ll let me finish it all tomorrow night. Cross your fingers!
