Flying out very soon!

It’s been snowing quite a bit around here… so I am ready to leave for my vacation today. Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait a few more days before I can officially take off. I fly out for Orlando early Monday.

I think Dad is excited to see me cause it’s been just him and the dogs since early November. It will be nice to have some one on one time with the old man, I think this is the first winter holiday we’re sharing over half a decade.

This weekend will not be as torturous as I’m indicating. Ethan is here for the weekend, and I’m happy to have one of my boys here with me. Ethan has a chess lesson today, and those appear to be going very well. I’m not pressuring Ethan to become a Grand Master or anything, as the purpose of learning chess is to promote critical thinking and enhance problem solving skills which I think will help improve his work at school. He seems to be enjoying them as well.

Tomorrow afternoon, I’ve got my tickets bought to see the new Star Wars movie with Ethan and my brother Chris. The not so little guy anymore is very excited about it and I am a bit too.

A confession to make: have done very little if any holiday shopping so far. One reason is that I’m not going to exchange gifts with the boys until new years when I take them for my week… so while I’m down in the US, I will take advantage of some big boxing day sales and get more bang for my buck. Seems like a good plan to me. My Dad is a Black Friday professional, so boxing day for him will be a walk in the park. Thanks to last month’s Black Friday, I already got a new PS4 for the boys, so some of my shopping is done, so now I just need to get an extra controller, some new games and some Skylanders. Not much…

Another cool thing is one of my Dad’s new neighbors had free passes for Disney World that he can’t use. They expire on the 31st so it’s a case of use them or lose them. So it appears Dad and I appear to be hitting Disney World during this trip. We’ll call this a reckon mission, for when I bring the boys here next time.

So I’ve got a lot to look forward too, especially having access to this site while vacationing in Florida! Looking forward to posting pics at the beach, and wherever else I go when down there. But for now I’ve got a few more days of snow and windchill to deal with until then.

So stay warm folks!

Peter

This all sounds wonderful!! Good to have the one on one time with Dad and in a nice, warm climate!! I hope you 2 gentlemen have a great time. My grandkids used to love Skylanders, then they migrated to Disney Infinity 2.0 or something, lol. Now they have the old Nintendo and games and love that stuff. In any case, enjoy the time with your boys, as well!! No daughters? I only was blessed with 3 daughters, but, that’s awesome, too. As the years went on, I became gramma to more grandsons than granddaughters. Hmmmm, must skip generations? LOL> YOU keep warm, too!!
