Fan Expo 2013 and a Picnic…
Last week my friend Patrick and I purchased tickets to attend this year’s Fan Expo. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a while so this year we chose to make it happen. I have a few extra bucks from some of the ghostwriting projects I’ve been doing, so I caved and agreed to make the trip to Toronto and attend the event. Our tickets are already purchased and we’re only going on the Saturday that weekend, which is the most expensive and coolest day of the four day event. The Expo happens to occur during a weekend that I have just Ethan by himself, so rather than try to avoid my fatherly duties… we got a ticket for him too! Ethan has been getting into a log of cool stuff (like Star Wars) so we think he would have a great time at Fan Expo. It should be a lot of fun for everyone!
Speaking of good times, I’ve been invited to a picnic on Sunday. I just happen to be kid free this weekend for the first time in almost a month, so I happily accepted. It’s an atheist picnic, an event which is being organized by the same group that I sat with at the street festival last month. I really like hanging out with this group, so hanging out on a sunny Sunday afternoon at a huge park with a bunch of non-believers sounds like a lot of fun. It’s also going to be a potluck picnic, which means there be a ton of food, so I’ll be skipping breakfast that morning. For my contribution, I’ll be making devilled eggs… no atheist picnic would be complete without them.
So besides the ghostwriting and ushering Jon back and forth to his summer program, that’s pretty much all I’ve been doing this month. July is just flying right now, and so is 2013 for that matter. Before I know it it will be my birthday and another Nanowrimo will be just around the corner. Enjoy the summer while you can, the way this year is moving it will be over in the blink of an eye.
So that’s what I have going on, hope everyone else is having a great week on OD and I’ll be around.
Until then, take care!
Peter
