Everybody have fun tonight…

For those who are celebrating this day with a loved one, more power to you. I’m not kidding… I hope you guys have a swell time.

Just because I’m single doesn’t mean I should piss and moan about it to the point where it ruins your day. Quite the opposite, I hope and wish that everyone has a chance to share some time with loved ones today and appreciate how awesome their lives can be with them in it. Don’t take those you care about for granted, because no one gets out of here alive. While it’s true you shouldn’t need an excuse to celebrate your love, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use one when it falls onto your lap. Get out there and have fun!

I like to consider myself a very romantic person. Hell, I’m a poet so you’d think this would be exactly my kind of day. Yet due to bad luck, or me just being a complete douche bag sometimes, I find myself going solo on yet another valentine’s day. Not the end of the world, and I’m not going to make excuses nor look for any scapegoats. I am fully aware that if I really want to confront the person responsible, all I have to do is look in a mirror. I’ve been very picky about the people I’ve dated the last two years. I’m not ready to commit to anything unless if feels right. So this is a situation of my own doing, because I’d rather be alone right now than walk into another disastrous relationship.

But to those who are enjoying the day with someone they care about, have fun and best wishes. I’m not the kind of guy to pee on someone’s parade. Have a bitchin’ day and do your thing. If I was in your shoes, I would too.
