Ethan turns three…

Today is a very big day for Leah and I. Our son Ethan today celebrates his 3rd birthday. To me that’s quite astonishing. Three years would make it 36 months. That’s 1086 days, which turns out to be 26,064 hours or 1,563,840 minutes. That’s a long time and I for one have enjoyed watching my little guy grow up. He’s no longer that little 9 lbs baby that we brought home those years ago and is now a little boy. A little man that is growing fast and learning more and more everyday.

I love being a Dad, and it’s one reason why I didn’t hesitate to take on the role of homemaker so I could spend more time with my boys. I plan to make something special for Ethan for supper to celebrate his birthday, but his party due to backlogs wasn’t able to be booked until the 24th, to adjust to Leah’s new work schedule. That’s okay, cause I don’t mind having a little private time to celebrate with Ethan today. I’m going to make his favorite supper (pizza) and have a small cake for him to blow out. Then next week he’ll have his huge party with friends, treats and all the trimmings.

The last two birthdays haven’t been what we hoped to be. Due to problems beyond our control, his first two parties were cancelled… so we’ve gone out of our way to make sure this one went ahead. The location is booked, and I’ve got the cash to pay for it already stashed away so there is no problems that will get in the way this time. Our little guy will have a lot of fun as will both Leah and I. But here’s to my little guy who is three years old. Where did the time go?
