Dinner guests and upcoming movies…
There is nothing more fun than having friends over for dinner. I can’t get enough of it myself, and last night I had the chance to cook for Leah and Lady Dmaj and I took full advantage of it. I managed to pick up some amazing pasta, which was stuffed with potatoes and leek, and I managed to get my hands on a great red wine pasta sauce, and mix that up with ground beef and various fresh veggies, it made one hell of a meal. It was a different pasta, but it turned out all right and everyone seemed to eat it. Ethan was the one I was worried about but he ate a good portion of what he was served.
Combined with Salad and a batch of chocolate banana muffins, I had my cooking mojo in high gear and I hope the women were really impressed with my ability to whip up something special for them. It was nice have LadyD over for dinner and chit chat. She’s a good friend and it’s always cool to talk and gab on forever. I could tell that Leah enjoyed having her over cause it’s hard for her to get out and meet with people so having someone new over to talk with was a good thing. I think she really appreciated having someone to hang out with and she’ll get that chance again when we move to the new appartment, cause she’ll live closer to friends she hasn’t had much time to hang out with since they moved away from us.
But it was a nice night at the appartment last night as myself, Leah and LadyD talked about a crapload of stuff from politics to baby stuff cause her sister is a few months away from producing what will be her first nephew/neice. She also got to meet Jonathan for the first time and got a little practice holding a newborn baby, which I could tell she was a little nervous about. I thought she did all right and it was nice to see her again. We talked about going out and hitting a few movies, and while she didn’t seem very receptive to catching ‘Paradise Now’ in late March after Leah and the kids go to Tennessee, we agreed to check out the Neil Young documentary titled “Heart of Gold” which will show here on the island a week later on March 30. Leah was never fond of checking out those indie films, and Lady Dmaj is always game for those kind of movies as long as they’re not too serious. She’s also dying to check out the new X-men movie coming out in May and I have to admit this one is looking rather good… as is the new Superman movie opening in June. I was a little iffy about it, but I like what I’ve seen so far and am willing to give it an honest chance. The cool thing about Leah and the kids visiting the grandparents in Tennessee for two plus months is that I’ll have a chance to see a few movies and maybe spit out some quality reviews for a chance. Yes, I know I’ve been very lazy when it comes to those but I’ll have a little time to do a little work. Here is a list of the movies I’m eager to check out when I have the free time:
March 06 Hit list:
– V for Vendetta
– Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction
– Paradise Now (March 23 Screening)
– Neil Young: Heart Of Gold (March 30 Screening)
April 06 Considerations:
– Slither
– Flight 93
– Scary Movie 4
– The Sentinel
Must See Movies for May:
– Mission Impossible 3
– Posideon
– The Da Vinci Code
– X-Men III
So as you can see… I plan to spend a few nights during my wife and kid free break in a dark theatre. That’s a lot of nachos and large root beers. It will be a lot of fun, but after that the real work will begin again but I intend to enjoy the time off while I can. I won’t feel too bad about it though cause I have no doubt that Leah and the kids will enjoy the nice weather and sun in Nashville during their break and be able to go out and get some air and not be cooped up in the appartment building all the time. It’s going to be an interesting few months away from the kids, especially since Jonathan will be growing so much during that time, but it will be fun for all involved. I like the idea that my parents will get a chance to spend so much time with the kids… and I want them to have as much time with them as possible cause you never know much of it they have left. Personally I’d love them both to live forever, but I’m not naive. I hope to be around for a while, so I’ll share the time they have left right now and get mine in later. Hopefully Lady Dmaj will help me knock a few films off that list, but if not I’ll go alone or with a few other buds if they have time.
I’d like to babble on forever about this stuff, but I got to get to work. Hope everyone has a good day and I’ll be around…

My boyfriend and I were just complaining last night, “When is ‘Da Vinci Code’ coming out??” Yeay, May! Good for you for being the chef. Potato and leek pasta? Sounds yummy!

Thanks for coming by, but I’m ending my diary for now, I have too many other things going on. It is set to end in a week or so, but I’ll probably be back after we retire and get settled in. Take care.
