Blogathon Post Mordem
I’m back at the computer, and I pretty much stayed away from it for at least twenty four hours. My hands and arms are feeling better, and I’m doing all right the day after. Sunday was a little tough on the body, but it was no different than it was last year. I went stright to bed and literally crashed, and didn’t wake up until 3pm. Yeah, five hours later, Leah wanted me to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Not in the mood to fight, I went out and picked up what she needed plus a few things more. When I got back, I hung out with the kids and then after supper, I was ready to drop again, and crashed around 5:30pm. I got back up around 10:30pm, talked to Leah a little bit, and then went back to bed around 11pm. Then I woke up at 2:30am, but by then I was doing all right and was fully recharged. I got up and gave Jonathan his night feeding and then went back to bed around 4am, only to get up around 5:30am for the day as that is usually when Ethan wakes up. So on and off, I was able to catch up on the sleep lost during the blogathon.
The best part is I managed to raise $123 for a good cause, and while that is a little short of what I raised last year… it’s was still worth staying up all night for. I found it fun to use my digital camera for some entries to eat up some space while at the same time giving readers something fun to look at. I thought everyone here at OD did a really good job, and I again have a great deal of respect for them for doing a great job and raising a lot of money for their respective charities. Hopefully everyone got a lot of rest when it was all said and done…
Speaking of rest, today is the vacation day I booked off to help recover from the blogathon. In a stroke of complete luck, today is the same day Leah has an interview for that big job she really, really wants to get her hands on. She dressed up nicely and took of early this morning. The boys are napping and I have already did the dishes, and plan to tidy up once I’m finished this entry. If she gets the job, that means Leah would be leaving her Maternity leave four months earlier than expected. By law, I can go home on ‘Paternal” Leave and finish the last four months of her leave and stay home with the kids and save us a boatload of $$ by not tossing them both into daycare. This would be the way to go, cause not only will it let Leah take the job she wants, but it gives me a few months away from the center and that would do me a lot of good. If I walk in next week with a letter from my doctor saying I’m on leave, the center has no choice but to accept it. After my recent incidents, I might need some time away and hold up the fort for a change. I think this would be good for everyone. Leah wants to get out of the house, I want to get away from the center. This would work… and I’d do my best to make sure it would.
So things are looking good, and cross your fingers for Leah cause I truely believe she would be good with this one. Four months from now when the leave finished, we’ll decide then what to do for child care. We’ll burn that bridge when we get to it. For now I’m gonna hang out with the kids, clean up the place a bit and then cook up a nice stir fry for supper. Should be a lot of fun and a nice slow day off. Here’s hoping everyone else has a good Monday and I’ll be around.

I crashed too. I was asleep within five minutes. I woke up briefly at noon, then fell asleep again till 4. Gor up, ran a few quick errands, then went back to bed at 7. slept till 2 am, got up again, then took a nap around 7 AM this morning. I’m still tired, but I’m mostly okay now. Hope Leah gets that job!

Ooh, and I found a repeat of a recent episode of Rockstar Supernova today. It’s not live, but they are showing it. I’m not sure how far into the series it is. Anyway, I loved it. Finally, a reality talent show with decent music! Thanks for telling me about it 🙂

Good luck to Leah! I hope she gets the job and that you enjoy your vacation. You are a good father. Thanks! You did a good job with the Blogathon, too. Sorry I couldn’t read much of your diary, but school is keeeping me busy. I spent the last few hours of the Blogathon in bed, with half-hour alarms because I was so ill. I am still recovering from the event.
