Blogathon # 35: A few tunes from the MP3 Player…
Time Posted: 2:03am EST
Just to let you guys know, I have the MP3 player (Winamp) on but not playing too loudly right now. It’s on random so for kicks I decided to post the next several songs it played just to give you an idea of what kind of music I have on this thing. So here goes…
This is one of my favorite country songs lately, and it’s oh soooooo true! (That will provoke a few comments…)
I am a big fan of the Tea Party. I actually got to see them in concert when I was at Univeristy. That night I discovered that their lead singer while talented is a complete asshole. They had two showed booked for our campus that year and I got tickets for the first show. They started to play one of their best songs (The River) and stopped about 30 seconds in. “If you want to hear that one…” he said, “You’ll have to show up tomorrow.” Well, I didn’t just out of spite. But the rest of the show was good and they performed this song too…
Did this band have any other hits? I can’t recall… so I’m under the assumption this is a one hit wonder until someone corrects me.
Still… awesome song.
Yes, this is on my MP3 list. I doubt any of you are going to let me live this down.
Hey, in my defence… it’s a catch tune, a classic and the kids love it. Literally, Ethan dances around the living room every time I play it.
Still, I’m sure I’m going to hear about it. Fire away.
David Gray is pretty cool, and I got this CD actually by volunteering to write a review for my campus paper. I never heard of him before that and I still have that CD in my collection.
I got this album last year, and this is one of the better songs on it. Sarah Brightman is a great voice, and I was disappointed I never got a chance to see her in concert. She was here in the Hammer last November, but I couldn’t afford the tickets. Maybe next time…
See you all in 30.
Peter
The Verve did have a second hit with “Drugs Don’t Work” – it wasn’t as big as “Bittersweet Symphony” but still a hit!

Oh, and I have a question for you….if you had unlimited money and could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Duuuude, I love Bittersweet Symphony and Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. FYI, I’m totally jacking this idea.
