Another Case of the Mondays…

It’s Monday morning, and I’m back at the center and taking calls and making the bacon. I started very early this morning, around 8am which is cool cause that normally means I would get home early as well. Not this time, because I’m working ten hours today and will be here for quite a while. It will give me time to post a few entries, leave a tone of notes, and if I managed to get into a writing frenzy… perhaps I’ll spit out a chapter or two for the Manifest. I managed to get a few chapters written last week, and wouldn’t mind getting this one back on track and finished sometime in the next month or so. I have the novel pretty much mapped out in my head. I know what direction it’s going to take and how it’s going to end. Now all I have to do is slowly trek to that point and wrap it up. Things are all right for now, but I’m sure to hit a block now and then but it happens. I’ll be more than willing to share more updates as they come.

Speaking of writing, I’ve been going over my options for renewing my diary here on OD. My plus subscription runs out in early March, and the question won’t be whether or not I renew, but what kind of renewal I purchase. This June will mark seven years on Open Diary. That’s a lot of time and entries. I have no intention of slowing down and intend to stay here as long as the DM keeps things running. That being said, I’m seriously considering getting a lifetime membership. I could easily just fork down another year like I have for the last half decade, or just pay up the full hundred and never have to worry about it ever again. With all the time I’ve spent on OD and plan to for many years and decades to come so it would be a worthy investment cause after four years the purchase would be working for me for a change. It seems like the best option for me. I’ll have to think about it a little more as the deadline approaches, but for now I’m smitten to get the lifetime option.

Another thing I’m smitten to do this year is head to the Dome a few times and check out some Blue Jay games. I love baseball and am excited about being close enough to catch a handful of games this year in Toronto. I plan to drag Leah out for her first big league game. You can’t live this close to a ballpark like the Dome and not see a game. I want to take Ethan, but Chris and I don’t think he’s ready yet and will try next year. But I think Leah will have a good time. Get her a few beers and some nachos, and she’ll have a blast. Give her a good seat less than 100 feet away from the third base line, and she’ll really enjoy the experience. It’s something I’m looking forward to doing this year. I’m looking forward to doing a lot with the kids and Leah this year and while some might not happen I’m gonna try to make a few decent memories this year.

So I’m doing all right at the center, but things are picking up. I’ll have to stop writing and take care of things here. Hope everyone has a decent Monday and I’ll be around…

Dude if we get to a game, we will be nowhere near anything. Not even the beer (no alcohol in bleachers)

i love baseball! i’m ashamed to say i only made it to one cubs game last summer. happy monday!

Well, it’s not the Red Sox, but it could be worse and be the Yanks.. 😉

I wish 8am was starting very early for me. I started a new job today that starts everyday at 8am. I’m a career second shifter that now gets up for work about 2 hours after he has been going to bed the last few years. Don’t bank on the Blue Jays btw, last I checked the Red Sox and Yankees are still in that division. Curt Schilling isn’t retiring either. Go Sox!!!
